didn't even get around to ordering. the waitress clearly didn't want our group of seven to be there for lunch, so after being glared at for a bit we left. the strangling motion she made at us as we walked out was a nice touch... a very odd and awkward experience.

the pub also offers accommodation upstairs, and out the back is a large bistro and a pleasant-looking courtyard. we refuelled with some delicious tasmanian wine and creamy seafood chowder, served with warm, crusty bread and herb butter (nom).

worst pub i've ever been to. took 1.5 hours for meals to come. one diner had to change order 4 times because they had 'run out' of the menu items. another diner got their meal of filo pastry wrapped salmon and prawns and all the seafood was raw! another meal was completely forgotten.. no background music, no atmosphere, no idea. not sure how the place is still surviving!

time for a real review meals are nice for a pub venue, great atmosphere and sensational service but they need to change the tartare sauce it is ordinary and detracts from the meal. also some bonea in my trevalla encrusted main was a little disapointed as i wasnt warned .otherwise friendly environment :)

"shippies" the home of the sydney to hobart race. no pokies. no tab. notofu. no keno. no pool table. no live music. no bok choy. no instant food.
but, great location. great historical architecture, great collection maritime photos & memorabilia, great accommodation. great dining area's. great bar area's. great local & boutique beers & wines, great individually prepared dishes. great service. great ambience. with a great menu.
we chose as entree's, a seafood chowder, and oysters kilpatrick. the chowder was impressive. oysters, very palatable. mains, deep fried seafood selection - the fish of the day, blue eye travella, herb crusted. the trevalla was very fresh, cooked to perfection, mouth watering. for the calorie conscious stir fries, vegetables and potatoes are available with all mains, instead of fries. their range of desserts is tempting. the quality of food, along with a good menu selection, with a very relaxing vibe, makes this hotel far more than an old historic pub. this hotel is very popular bookings are advisable.
