"shippies" the home of the sydney to hobart race. no pokies. no tab. notofu. no keno. no pool table. no live music. no bok choy. no instant food.
but, great location. great historical architecture, great collection maritime photos & memorabilia, great accommodation. great dining area's. great bar area's. great local & boutique beers & wines, great individually prepared dishes. great service. great ambience. with a great menu.
we chose as entree's, a seafood chowder, and oysters kilpatrick. the chowder was impressive. oysters, very palatable. mains, deep fried seafood selection - the fish of the day, blue eye travella, herb crusted. the trevalla was very fresh, cooked to perfection, mouth watering. for the calorie conscious stir fries, vegetables and potatoes are available with all mains, instead of fries. their range of desserts is tempting. the quality of food, along with a good menu selection, with a very relaxing vibe, makes this hotel far more than an old historic pub. this hotel is very popular bookings are advisable.
