sheffield's wine & beer garden

great beer selection. i have been to this bar several times to drink with friends. the beer selection is always rotating and they do a great job focusing on craft beer and micro-breweries, which is excellent! they recently started serving sixpoint bengali tiger, an ipa from brooklyn ny, nice choice! i have heard a lot of people exclaim that the barbecue is top notch, so i decided to give it a stab. i ordered the pulled pork plate with fries, corn bread, and slaw ($13). even though the portion was very large the pork was mediocre. there are a few criteria that anyone should follow when slow cooking pork. i have to say this as a message to anyone who wants to perfect or just improve their bbq, pulled or chopped. the pork must contain "bark" which is the outer layer of meat that receives the smoke and heat. the bark must be crispy and contain all of the delicious flavor, it should not be soggy, it is essential to barbecue. sheffield's pork did have some bark, however; it was not crispy, the temperature was luke warm, very dry, and the meat had way to much fat and gristle. on the positive side, the carolina vinegar based sauce was excellent. it should be bottled and sold. however, sauce alone should not carry the entire flavor of the pork. i will be back to drink at this bar, but i won't order bbq.

i love italian beefs to death and i've got to say, portillo's has my favorite beef. i use with nacho cheese and hot peppers. bam! i got there in my limo from all american limousine after the cubs game and my entire group were amazed at how amazing the food was.

sheffield's is a north side classic. the beer garden is phenomenal and and inside is bigger than it looks. the food is better than average bar food (especially the nachos and grilled cheese) which makes it a great weeknight destination. the beer selection is large and always diverse with good monthly selections. the service can skew a little on the slow side, but as long as you know that going in, it isn't usually an issue (for me at least).

i can't objectively review this place since i know some people that work here that've given me and my family an over abundance of free food...and free cubs tickets thanks to a contest via their awesome owner.

regardless, i want to dislike this place more due to my brother...but it really is phenomenal. great staff, good food (dodge the cornbread/biscuits), and a beautiful beer garden.

if you're drinking in wrigley, go here. the beer garden really is spectacular. i shouldn't need to say the beer lineup is great, but i guess that's not always implied.

great bar b que and beer. stick to what they do well and you will be amply rewarded. superior bar b que, especially the pulled pork. great beer selection and knowledgeable staff.

other selections are riskier - mediocre gumbo, wings, and bad blue cheese dressing.

huge beer selection & nice bbq. sheffield's has a nice selection of brews,ales and cider . they also have a very neat beer garden . it would be a error to not check this business out . a few years back they saw the need for bbq in the area . they now serve a great brisket and ribs as well as other bbq dishes . they also offer some solid sides to go along with them . our server knew the menu well and refilled our drink orders quick , both our dinners were perfect . gotta try sheffield's it's a neat place .

great place to hangout before, during, and after a cubs game near wrigleyville. a hidden gem that all out of towners should check out.

best beer garden. this is the best beer garden in lake view. the trees, benches, and music is perfect on a warm summer evening. i also like the "bad beer of the month" special.
