great pizza. among the best i've tried so far in seattle; we came for dinner at this location (there is another, but this was closest to our hotel). i started with the kale salad, and my mother got the roasted beets. the kale was my kind of food; great quality produce, with a subtle and not overpowering lemony dressing. it was topped with some pine nuts (great flavor to pair with kale!) and some calabrian peppers to add some vinegary zing and heat. topped with a little cheese to add some salt. great, simple salad. mom's beets (a combination of both golden and purple) were perfectly warmed in a small ceramic dish with goat's cheese, a few hazelnuts for crunch, and farro. a light balsamic dressing was in the base of the dish so that it did not over-coat the beets and cheese. for our entrees, i got the prosciutto/arugula/egg pizza and my mother got the special which was, if i remember correctly, with some spicy sausage and onions. i'd never had pizza with eggs but it was lovely; the eggs added a different creaminess than cheese did. the arugula was fresh and the prosciutto was the perfect meaty accent. my mother's pizza was much more flavorful as far as spice goes; the sausage was really great. the bread aspect is what truly made the pizzas for me. neither of us finished a full pizza; if i were to go again i would get a starter and share a pizza with someone. we decided to get dessert. i got some truly amazing cannoli and she got some great coconut pie. these people really know how to take a classic and make it modern and great while still laying true to it's history. would definitely love to visit again!
and i forgot- my pizza came out about 10 minutes late, and while it did not bug me at all, they told me they weren't going to be charging me for it when they finally brought it to me. great service!
