we ate at the pub, after not being there for a while. the food was very good, the service adequate and friendly. they expanded the dining room, adding a separate party room, and an area with game tables. there were unsupervised children yelling and running about. no one seemed to notice, but it took away from the dining experience and disrespected the customers.

stopped in her for lunch on a tuesday in november.

located in the northeast quadrant of the 144th & center intersection next to westlake ace hardware's parking lot. if you seem to remember them being elsewhere it's because they were previously located at 108th & q.

i ordered the 1/2 pound burger with fries. the burger patty was burnt. it wasn't burnt and dried out all the way through, but the outside of the patty was charred and not in that yummy flame-broiled sort of way, but in that "oops, the grill was turned too hot" sort of way. overall, a rather average burger. fries were steak fries and i'm not a particular big fan of that cut of fries. i requested them extra crispy and they did comply with that request.

the other two guys in my dining party ordered the outrageous nachos and the pork tenderloin with sweet potato fries. the nachos were good, but he was disappointed that they used canned/pickled jalapeños instead of fresh jalapeños. the pork tenderloin seemed to be the star of the show. he loved it and also thought the crinkle-cut sweet potato fries were very good too.

service was attentive and friendly, but i really didn't get the vibe that the waitress really enjoyed what she did. she sort of had that friendly but burnt-out vibe you get from some older waitresses.

overall, a nice place inside. certainly has a nice irish pub feel to the place. i've not been here for happy hour or to drink at night, so i cannot comment on their bar scene, but as a lunch destination it's mostly just okay.

loved this place! it was our first visit and we will definitely be back. it is exactly the laid back comfortable bar we have been looking for. we found it to be clean, the food good with large portions and very reasonable prices.

good food, very filthy restaurant. i only ate here once, because i found a groupon and i love trying new places! the food was good, but the place was sooo freaking dirty, i couldn't get past that and the whole trip was very unpleasant. the staff was soooooo so nice, and everyone there seemed to be very pleased, and let me tell you it was packed in there! i don't know if i am just super picky or get grossed out easily, but the place was filthy to me.

good food, average ambience. 3 for lunch on a friday. best thing anyone had was my irish stew in a bread bowl.
this was very good. the stew was savory- didn't taste like dinty moore-- well seasoned with tender meat and veggies. the bread bowl itself was really good... and after being soaked in the stew, it was so delicious i could not leave any on my plate.
the smithwick's was good... if i were in the area i'd seriously consider coming back for the food.

the atmosphere, though, was not terribly "irish." a remodeled mexican restaurant.

the food was very good... i would like them to add a wooden bar and brass bar fixtures.

ph76. i don't understand how this place has such a high rating. the food wasn't terrible, just mediocre. bartender had the personality of a doorknob.

grand reopening. sean o'casey's pub is having their grand reopening on tuesday, july 23, 2013 at their new location 2523 s. 140 ave in the oakview area. same great menu, same great prices and same friendly staff. the only thing different is the pub itself which is much nicer than the old one. they did an awesome job of converting a former mexican restaurant into an irish pub.

moving soon. this was our first time to sean o'casey's, so we asked the server what was good there. he immediately answered that the reubens were excellent, if you like that kind of sandwich. we both like reubens and i have been sampling reubens whenever i see them on the menu, so we both ordered one. i ordered the beer cheese soup with mine and my husband had the sweet potato fries. the soup came with a side of oyster crackers. it had been quite a while since i have had beer cheese soup and i enjoyed it a lot. the reubens are triple decker. the corned beef is chopped, rather than sliced. i like it that way because it is spread out throughout the sandwich. slices tend to stack up in the middle of the sandwich. there was more sauerkraut on this reuben than on some of the other reubens i have had lately. again, i liked that. this reuben is not the best i had, but it is high on my list. i am looking forward to returning and trying other things on the menu. i hope that will be possible. while there, we heard our server talking about moving. we asked him about it and he said that they were moving because the building had been sold to dunkin donuts. he said sean o'casey's will be moving to a new location, but they don't know where, yet.

solid lunch or dinner option. after visiting a half dozen times in the past year i've come to the conclusion that sean o'caseys puts out consistently above average pub food and is a good option for lunch or dinner any day of the week. they have a great beer selection so it works well as both a food or drinking destination. food specials are a good value. 45 cent wings on monday. new york strip special on tuesday, and corned beef and cabbage on thursday. wings are good, the double decker rueben or fish and chips, excellent. the breaded cod comes out perfectly cooked and crispy. also really enjoyed the home made tartar sauce. other interesting menu items i'm looking forward to trying are the irish club sandwich and the the prok chops braised in bass ale. check out the menu on their website. plenty of interesting items.

good lunch. stopped by for the first time today just for something different. had the $7.99 steak special with salad and baked potato. excellent value. juicy steak, about 8 oz of ny strip. food came out fast, service was excellent. cozy place. i will be back to try the other specials.

nice steak. surprisingly good food and drinks for cheap. i got a steak, potato, and salad for $7.99 during a special. it feels like a small town bar but with a much better beer selection.

better than average bar food. they usually have 90s music playing in the background, and the atmosphere is a little blah, but don't be fooled. their soups of the day are not to be missed, in fact, i can hardly think of any other places with better soup. i enjoy the reuben very much as well as the bbq chicken wings. good tap beer selection also.
