scranton's restaurant and catering

location is great, right down town in pascagoula, ms. the ambiance is good and the food is solid. i will return to try several of there other dishes.

wandered into a busy lunch hour without reservations. i am so glad that they found a seat for us! had bayou shrimp, bbq shrimp and fried cheese grits, loaded potato soup, pork rinds and bread pudding. every bite was amazing. service was fast and friendly despite the crowd. next time we drive through we will stop. well worth the stop.

i love the people here! they all are so warm and friendly! it makes you feel like they've known you forever! small town charm at it's finest!

dining experience. my husband and i eat at scranton's every two months. each time the food has been extraordinary. i ordered glazed salmon and requested that it be cooked well. the server took my request and the cook delivered a perfect order.

charged for what???. the food is good. just don't get it to go. i called in to go orders for 18 sandwiches and 1 salad. arriving a bit early, my co -worker and i were asked to take a seat and if we would like something to drink. we both ordered tea. then the manager rang up the to go order, placed the ticket in front of me and walked away. i looked at the ticket and noted there was a charge for 2 cups @ 20 cents each and one for $19 for boxes. i initially thought the two cups were for the styrofoam cups our tea was in. (in other restaurants when waiting on large to go orders tea has been a freebie.) when the manager came back by, i asked what the charges were for and was told in an "uppity" manner that it was for the take out boxes and dressing cups.

i mean, isn't it normal that boxes and cups would be included in the prices. do they charge extra to have the plates washed and dried on eat in orders?
i won't be ordering any take out food from t his place again.

very nice staff. offered to make my buddy the lunch sandwich they had on special earlier in the day. good menu decent brew selection. everything i had was good and reasonably priced. firehouse chicken sandwich with blackened chicken fried jalapenos pepper jack and jalapeno sour dough bread. nuff said. very good. crawfish bread app very good. comfortable classic restaurant feel. super nice waitress. cook coming out to check how our food was.

still the same.. many years ago when i worked in pascagoula, scrantons was a regular lunch stop and it was always good and consistant. after changing jobs and rarely visiting downtown pascagoula i had all but forgotten the place. was down there yesterday for the first time in ages and decided to stop in for lunch. i was surprised to see the place still looked almost like it did more than 10 years ago. i had thought katrina changed that but obviously it didn't. had a late lunch, the place was not busy at all. i was seated promptly and given a menu but after 10 minutes of waiting i had to ask the hostess if i could get waited on. she went in the back and soon a server came and took my order and it got better after that. had the club sandwich, fries and a small ceasar. the club was great as good as i recall it always being. the ceasar salad was good and very a ample portion for what they call a small salad. they were somewhat stingy with the fries but they were hot and good. it is good to see this place still has it going on. i hope to be able to get back downtown again soon and well surely go back to scrantons.

awesome!. love love love the she crab soup and the atmosphere. this place also has the best salads and i could eat here everyday. i would love to go here again!

worst meal i've ever had!. my wife and i stopped today for lunch. i had the new orleans sloppy poboy and she had the black and bleu salad. my fries were reheated. the sloppy looked like sludge on a bun. when i tried to pick it up what was left in the bun oozed onto my plate. it looked someone had the runs on my plate. 98% of what came out went back to the kitchen. my wife's salad had crunchy meat and soft lettuce. it was like pieces of shoe sole on wilted lettuce. as for the service it took 25 minutes to produce this crap. you could not pay me to go back. you've been warned.

pascagoula's tradition. scranton's restaurant has always been a huge part of pascagoula's traditions. since i moved here when i was 8, it was always always always the place we went to when we didn't want fast food and i seriously never appreciated it until i moved away for college and now i crave it all the time! ever since i can remember, i never deviated from ordering my usual shrimp alfredo dish (which was to die for) and i know my parents dreaded getting such a large dish for a child but you gotta try that dish. i did also go through a scranton's club sandwich kick once and i will still swear by these today. i've never heard of any dislike of the food, service or atmosphere at scranton's. if tourists ever get the chance to come to "our sleepy little town of pascagoula" (and if you've ever heard the squirrel went berserk song, you know why there's quotations around that quote), you cannot not go to scranton's because it's the only way to get the true experience. and i'm not exaggerating!

great place to eat.. i have eaten at scrantons for the past 8 years or so and i cant remember a time that i didnt leave satisfied. they have some of the best burgers around the area. if you havent tried the shrimp n grits then do, one of my favorites.

not the same.. scranton's has been known as one of the best restaurants in pascagoula. sadly, i can't agree with this anymore. the service is slow and the food is not good. i've end up paying over 15$ for food that they just took right back because i didn't touch it.

fair. have eaten there many times in the past. menu seems like it's shrinking and food wasn't as good as past times. last experience 3/10/10 dinner.

we ate there at lunch. the servive was not good. the food was pretty good.
