very good. very attentive service & really great menu choices. had the veal chop done perfectly. excellent wine list. really good experience!

too many people! tables too close together and too many reservations - bar almost impossible to get a drink. food was very good, but not worth the aggravation if you are looking for a nice dinner with good service. plenty of other places in fairfield county with better service and food for the price

overall, scena wine bar & restaurant is an excellent choice in darien and i look forward to more visits to enjoy more of chef leonard’s delicious creations.

enjoyed the meal. my husband and i love cava in new canaan, so we thought we'd try their sister restaurant in darien. we did the price fixed meal and we were very happy with the meal; had a fabulous fish dish and a roasted chicken that was cooked to perfection. the tables are a little close together, but that doesn't take away from the quality of the food.

i'd highly recommend this restaurant.

wonderful lunch. stop in for a great lunch, they have a great prix fixe 2 course menu for $15 or just order off the main menu all on their website.

november 18, 2011 don't you just love tripping over a good restaurant? that's what happened recently on a trip home from nyc, when dropping a friend at the parking lot of the darien train station. we had enjoyed a huge fabulous lunch at tocqueville in the city, and it wasn't until we arrived in darien that we realized we needed just a little something to eat. we notice the warm light coming through the windows at scena on the post road, thinking, "how bad could it be for a glass of wine and nibble" we were pleasantly surprised. along with a crisp glass of oyster bay (new zealand) sauvignon blanc ($8) we sampled a crispy artichoke salad with a gently fried baby artichoke amid lots of arugula, shaved red onion, preserved lemon, ricotta salata ($11) and a rich pumpkin seed pesto to spread on their warm crusty bread. also delicious was the tender charred octopus with a smoked paprika aioli, roasted fingerling potatoes, piquillo peppers in a classic (but too much) catalan romesco sauce ($12

terrible service. i've only been here once, but it was pretty terrible service. my husband and i went there for dinner, sat outside, and were promptly ignored for most of the evening! we're not demanding customers at all - just wanted occasional drink refills and for someone to check on us, but the waiters were really mia. it wasn't even that crowded! just avoid this place.

the food was okay (gazpacho was actually amazing) but not worth the bad service.

will have to try it again, someday. tables too small and close together. plates too big to fit on the little tables without rearranging the whole top; felt like i was doing a puzzle. waiters wooshing by so fast in the tight room you could feel the draft. and, bumping into diners. repeatedly. so the food may be good, but i couldn't tell that night. nice friendly attentive service, you can tell they mean well.
so they will come around in the rotation again at some point, and i hope i have something nicer to say b/c we like cava and these people are trying very hard.
