what a find! fresh, organic and flavorful. my 9 year old says 'what delightful salted buttery noodles'. for those of you who have traveled in belgium, sb serves pomme frites, not french fries. the rueben was made with the kind of corned beef you dream about and a homemade kraut from red cabbage, not to mention the soft, hearty grilled rye that still makes my mouth water.
we couldn't stop there, though, and moved on dessert where they served an angel food cake encrusted with a crispy-caramel-praline coating and filled with a butter creme that was to die-for. won't find a lunch like that again for a long time. well done!

if i could give this a negative rating i would to be honest i think they discrimate on your cultural background, my fiancée and i were taken to a table late and another couple behind us were sitted right away and served before us the funny thing is they were sat right next to us yet served frist to avoid any further abuse we left there are plenty great places in sb that value all there customers equally, if they feel this is the protocol for treating customers they need to be shut down, and i never write bad reviews but this deserved it and i don't want anyone to experience this kind of service but rest assured people were being served but as long as they didnt look like me, very sad and disappointed by this whole thing messed our day up.

started with the kale ceasar salad, nice try but lacks the crisp texture that comes with the romain lettuce bit chewy. had the steak dish for main only average, pesto garnish was vey acidic and did not match well with the meat. toffee coated fudge as a final sweet and was the highlight of the meal. 6/10

dinner treat. went with my wife last night for dinner. we've been to just about every place in sb...this is one of the best. chef, joel, is a master of combining flavors. you can tell how much he loves what he does. creative, portions just right, and the ambience is great. service is attentive, which makes up for being a little slow. had oysters that were uniquely prepared and wonderful. the kale caeser salad was beyond description....so wonderful. she had ceviche that was an explosion of flavor in the mouth and i had lobster with small potatoes on the side. lobster perfectly cooked, and the sauce it was swimming in was so good that we almost asked for a straw to finish it. price is reasonable. don't miss this.

disappointed. after reading reviews for this restaurant, i decided to give it a try. i ordered the soft scrambled egg dish with the savory biscuit. the egg part was over cooked and i could not detect any herbs and certainly no cheese. the spinach on top was the best part of the dish, but who can go wrong with steamed spinach. the biscuit was dry, hard, and tasteless. the potatoes were grilled halved new potatoes. most were over cooked and charred. i also ordered sausage. again, i was very disappointed. an italian sausage link is not what i was expecting. my meal cost $28 but to be honest it wasn’t even worth $10. i will not go back.

best restaurant in sb. this restaurant is top notch. i've eaten there 3 times now with a good friend and it's as good as california cuisine gets. the dishes are innovative, the specials have been non-pareil, the use of local, fresh, organic ingredients is refreshing. it's a family style business and the service is excellent. everyone there is on a mission to make your time there enjoyable in every way possible. the prices are excellent and the baked goods are prepared onsite and fresh daily. there aren't very many restaurants like this in southern california much less santa barbara. they serve breakfast and lunch so if you get there before 3pm you'll have a great time! i called a to-go order of chicken pot pie and salmon flatbread in yesterday and picked it up 10 minutes later. the garlic-lemon spread on the flatbread made this the best lox i've ever had. everything is fresh and the portions are good.

intriguing breakfast menu. had the marscapone polenta which was creamy and perfectly accompanied by poached eggs, artichoke hearts, baby onions and prociutto. service was both friendly and efficient. great choice for organic, fresh foods.
