sayakomarn's restaurant

every time i go to sayakomarn's, i try to order something different. and every time that i do order something new, i find a new favorite! the rice and noodle dishes are amazing, especially the pad thai and combo udon noodles. the staff and servers are always friendly and willing to lend their opinion to any newcomer who isn't sure what's good. i will gladly drive the 20 miles from amarillo for this food! that is saying a lot!!

i love tum yum, but it's hard to get a really good one from a restaurant, sayakomarn's does it though and they have boba. it's easily my favorite restaurant in canyon.

first and last visit. the evening started out well enough, but then was ruined. after ordering sommer rolls as an appetizer, i ordered the banker's stir fry and my wife the spicy chicken stir fry. after a looong wait, our waitress apologized and finally brought our food..mine was cold and bland and they got her order totally wrong. instead of taking the dish back - a soupy red or yellow chicken curry with bamboo sprouts - they insisted that it was the dish she ordered. i really didn't appreciate a waitress coming over and trying to bully her into admitting she ordered wrong. we ate, paid and left. the evening was over. and for only the 4th time in my life, i left without giving a tip

the food here is by far the best thai food in canyon. the service was slow after moving to the bigger building but it is steadily improving. most of the staff is very friendly. overall we highly recommend them.

slow slow slow. if you are dining in they take forever and it's even worse if it's togo, that only if they even answer the phone to take you togo order. they were my favorite before they moved into the newer bigger building.

long wait. ordered a meal to go, they said it would be ready in 20 minutes... it was an hour before they brought the order out.

best place in this area! better than any place in amarillo as well. recommending it to anyone with taste buds! in fact, i just ordered my family's dinner over the phone, another plus!

they live to cook. yes , they are the best " and then there's the rest .. i live to eat

great food here. hi everyone. i have been an avid fan of sayakomarn's since it opened. i thought it about time to let people know just how great this restaurant is. we are always treated like family when we go there. we drive 60 miles round trip each week to enjoy the wonderful food and at all times, friendly service. most servers are the local college kids that you can tell love working there. they have just spoiled us with the on the mark thai cuisine. we enjoy asian food but simply cannot think of anyplace else that tickles the belly as well. finally cuddos to the management for giving the local kids a job. we need more places like this that treats not only their customers great but also their workers. anyone that complains about the food here must be an old fuddy duddy that just can't be pleased. thanks live to eat.

best spring rolls in town! also try the shrimp panang add pineapples. my favorite.

nice, tasty food. fast and friendly service. the portions are huge and the prices are reasonable. i ordered the crab and cheese wontons (delicious) and the banker's special with chicken (amazing) and my check was under $13, plus i had more than enough leftovers to save for lunch! great choice in canyon.

had the chicken cashew lunch special and it was excellent!! tons of food for a lunch special... definitely my favorite thai restaurant!!!

this place is great!! best service. amazing food. the owner comes table side to ensure your visit and your meal is perfect. this place is a 10 in my book!!!!

of all canyon's thai restaurants, this is the best. how many thai restaurants can a town of 15000 support? apparently too many! but i think sayakomarn's is the best of the options. the food is good, prices are reasonable, service is quick and staff is friendly. i also like the location, it's fun to see the revitalization of the courthouse square. i like that sayakomarn's offers "fried" rice toppings on steamed rice, it makes me feel healthy when i order it! my one criticism: i know that they clean the tables as i see the staff spraying them down after each visitor, but they never feel super clean to me and always seem to have a residue so i sit with my hands in my lap, lol. i am a self-professed clean freak.

not bad, but not the best in canyon. so i might be the only person in canyon who likes thai food but doesn't like this place. it's not all bad, but the things that i really like are not good here. there are no redeeming dishes, so i avoid this place.

i like thai coffee quite a bit. i find it watery and not sweet enough here, plus i seem to be the only one who orders it so it usually takes some time. thai spice has good thai coffee.

i'm also a fan of panang, and here it is not starchy, and frankly not good. i do like that most dishes are served with cucumber, which cleanses the pallet between courses nicely. i usually do the crab cheese wonton for an appetizer, and frankly they are small and the pastry is dainty, not the way i like it. their dipping sauce is good, but the wonton itself isn't.

so all this would be ok if i could find something there that i like, sadly i cannot.

the place isn't bad, but there are far better options.
