saturn cafe  2175 allston way/oxford st., downtown.  l-d daily, satsunbr; $$.  located across the street from the u.c. campus, this outer space-themed spot with a bright-pink interior is a good place for a simple and quick lunch or dinner. there are plenty of comfy booths, and tables have whimsical, conversation-inducing, food-themed still-life collages under their glass tops.

i had the bbq chicken burger. the "chicken" was tasty. i liked it. their servings are pretty big. the staff are nice and attentive. they have vegan milkshake! i'm going to come back and try dessert. my friend and i were disappointed of the fries. we thought their "world renowned" fries were less than tasty. they were hard and lacked any flavor. i tried putting a little salt on them with ketchup and it didn't much. lol come back

i gave the breakfast/brunch menu a look-see, but my eyes gravitated and were fixed on the appetizer offerings, since they were cheaper and sounded more “fun”.

decent diner food. saturn cafe has decent vegetarian diner food, though it's nothing special or unique. i came here in october and thought i'd give it a try. while there are plenty of food options, nothing really stood out as a "must-have" or a very unique dish. the food was decent, but it wasn't the best meal i've ever had. would probably be good for some late-night food. i'd go back again!

cool!. had an order of the jalapeño burger w/onion rings (~$14): burger with jack cheese, spicy chipotle & buffalo sauce, jalapeños, lettuce, tomato, red onion on a whole wheat bun with onion rings on the side. also had an order of the soup of the day (~$4) and a root beer float ($5). food was delicious, staff was personable, and the ambiance was classic.
