my experience started with chips and the "three salsa" choice. the chips were served on top of the salsa, and nothing was separating the three types of salsa. so, at the end one ends up with a salsa medley, not to mention soggy chips. i'm not used to having to purchase chips and salsa at a mexican restaurant, but am happy to if it's a good product. the chips were stale and had a bag origin quality to them. i asked if they were made there, was told yes, and then he back stepped a bit and stated they were fried there, not "pressed". so, that tells me my palate was correct with the first impression. the salsa was tasty, however.
the entres tasted fresh, but with no unique quality to them or personality. the beef in the "asheville" was quite tough, despite full functioning teeth. the chicken in the chicken quesadilla was dry, and there was no queso blanco to be found. won't be back, because i vote with my feet. quite unpleasantly surprised.
