mother of all thai in socal. no exaggeration. this might be the best thai food outside of thailand. many might prefer saladang to a lot of the food in thailand. saladang is the place you bring people who are on the fence about thai and asian food in general to convert them into lovers. they do everything flawless. close your eyes and point to something on the menu; i guarantee you will get a good meal. i have been going to saladang for more than 10 years and i still crave their food. i never get bored, and i've never been disappointed. there is hardly anything on the menu more than $10, which makes it popular with everyone from doctors (from the huntington down the street) to artcenter students (a couple blocks east). that means it is often busy, and sometimes there is enough wait to make you think of bailing over to saladang song (next door and not nearly as good imo, feel free to make more room for me. ) that is really the only thing i can think to say negative about this place. it is one of the restaurants that truly deserves the "best of" awards it has hanging on it's walls.
