great sushi in olathe!. i had been looking thru the ratings of various restaurants here in the olathe area, and had came across the unusually high rating for olathe, of the sake lounge. it had been a while, since i had had good sushi, well since the wasabi café closed. come to find out, chef/ owner, shawn, also ran the wasabi café. the sushi, did not disappoint. i sat at the sushi bar, sipping a very nice house sake, and no not the usual gekkekan. all i can say is, they have a very extensive sake, and plum wine selection. the menu also has a very extensive raw, and cooked sushi menu. also with a pan asian flare including tai basil, and generals chicken, but who goes to a sushi restaurant for generals chicken?
chef shawn, was very helpful in telling me about the various sushi roll's he had to offer. i went with a very popular volcano roll, as an appetizer, then moved on to the maki b an an entrée that included a spicy salmon roll, a spicy tuna roll, and a spicy crab roll. it was all so good,
as i ate my fine sushi, i was able to watch chef shawn prepare all his entrees with loving care. all his presentations were beautifully presented, and shows the skill of a great sushi chef. if you truly like sushi, you must check this restaurant out.
