only good for sushi. don't get the pad thai.. i have loved every meal i've ever had at the sake café, until today. i ordered the pad thai for lunch. yuck! as soon as i opened the container i could smell there was something wrong and that this was not pad thai. unfortunately, i was right. there was something with tomato the dish. it was very lightly coated, but you could absolutely tell from the smell and taste. i was so very disappointed. that peanut-y delicious flavor i had been looking forward to was replaced by an inedible tomato tanginess that somewhat resembled campbell's soup. there were chopped white onions in the dish, not shallots. there were no brussel sprouts. the reason why they are still getting three stars is because all of their other dishes that i have had are phenomenal with the exception of this one. i understand that this is japanese fusion and that you go to sake café mostly for their sushi. i get that, and i have had their sushi and it is incredible. but i personally feel, that as one of the few alternate options available to people, this should be much improved. not only that, but this is probably the most popular thai dish on the planet and is a staple in any thai or fusion restaurant. there should never be a mediocre pad thai. so, from now on i will continue to go to jasmine when i am craving that peanut-y, noodle-y deliciousness, and go to sake café exclusively for sushi.
