this place has great food, but on the down side the service sucks. i understand it family owned and ran but the girls who are running it could take quite a few courses on customer service. also just the staff looking clean and presentable, the girl with the blue hair seems unsure and sloppy whenever asked a question. other than the service and upkeep off the staff the food is amazing. sadly they can't make a bbq chicken musubi on request. and i wish like the traditional mochiko chicken they would have a sauce, but this is what you get when your not from the island.

great food. the menu had all the hawaiian local food staples. i ordered the lau lau plate and it was delicious. it's always a good sign when the line is out the door and the service was fast. i'll be back here again.

love love love!! when i get a craving for a plate lunch, these guys fill the void. i usually get the lau lau (pork in banana leaves). place is super clean and washrooms are as nice as someone's house.

so sad i don't live closer to this joint.

btw, the bbq place around the bend is also good and you get free soft ice cream.

ccc. i've been here probably 20 times for lunch since i work close. i'm always satisfied with the food, but today i tried to buy lunch costing $9.83 and they said i couldn't use my credit card since there is a $10 minimum. i understand i could use cash or debit, but out of principle i refused. i understand a business is free to set policies as they please, but they refused my payment over 17 cents. the tip would have put it well over $10 as i explained but tthey still refused even to point where i said i wouldn't ever return. this is something i take a stand on. card fees are a business expense! are you asked to pay extra fees to dine with the lights on or to use toilet paper in the restroom? no

... for the hawaiian locals here who miss home or for the mainlanders who’ve been to hawaii and want a taste of the islands again, saimin says is the place to get your aloha on.

only place i have found with authentic cake noodle. not the bird's nest kine. like the kind straight out the saimin package, made crunchy, then with awesome gravy. be careful though as it comes out super hot.

loco moco is legit. i'm always looking for a good loco moco when i'm away from hawaii and this one was pretty good. my partner tried the mochiko chicken and it was all right - a little too sweet. haven't tried their saimin, but i'd definitely go again.

food is great. shoyu chicken had a great marinade on it and it was cooked perfect. try the hawaiian fried rice, it is outstanding. we had a long wait for our food, 35-40 minutes after ordering, not sure if it's always like that. look forward to going back, but only when i have the time.

note, saimin’s not ramen, but if you want to try this “hawaiian ramen,” you can also go to hawaiian breeze and saimin says.
