had the degustation with matched wines and absolutely loved it. the wine was paired perfectly and the food divine - the lobster rissotto bisque was a true highlight. already looking forward to having an excuse to return

my husband and i visited recently as a special treat. we chose the degustation option at $105 each and paired it with wine for an extra $50. i can’t remember the last time that i was so disappointed with a restaurant. the waitress had very poor english and when we asked her about the menu...... she didn’t understand us. not acceptable in a fine dining restaurant! we were there for 2.5hrs..... wait time too long between courses. food only ok when it arrived. overall, very disappointed and way over rated. we will not be back☹️

really enjoyed this, had tuna entree and lamb main, both cooked perfectly full of flavour.
wait staff were spot on, friendly and attentive.
not cheap

ambience is pleasant and music ok, but service was far from personal with wait staff not assigned to tables so three of them served us during our meal, and they seemed quite disinterested without a great knowledge of the menu or what we were eating. the beer list is short (though the wine list is admittedly long), the servings are meagre and the balance in some dishes seemed off, with lots of sweet notes but little acid to balance it. the side salad i ordered didn't arrive, the seasonal vegetables in february was parsnip (go figure) - why not corn, tomato and why only one vegetable when the menu said vegetables and we brought it for that. all very masterchef with micro greens and spots of sauces around the plate which was very nice. but this is an expensive restaurant and it isn't there. i wont be back.

beautiful meal (if not a little on the small side) was delivered way to fast.  four courses served in just over an hour is pushing it.  we actually had quite a laugh with another couple seated close by at the speed every diner was served.  quite hard to believe i know.  unfortunately because we like to dine at a leisurely pace, we won't be back.

i really enjoyed every moment of my dining experience at saggio di vino. we opted for the pre-theater $54 meal option as we were headed to a play the court theater at 7:30 and found it was a great deal. for $54 you can have your choice of two of the following: an entree, a main or a dessert. my husband chose the steak tartare option (which is excluded from the option because of the time it takes to prepare, but we got lucky) and the prime aged beef fillet. i chose the prime aged beef fillet and the chocolate mousse cake with cinnamon ice cream. we also chose to pay a la carte for the mahaurangi oysters (which i highly recommend if you're an oyster person). the oysters are served with a white wine mignonette. the steak tartare was plated gorgeously. we had the waitress prepare the tartare for us and watched as she mixed in the egg, worcestshire sauce, hot sauce, capers, onions and spices. the tartare and the toasted brioche were fantastic and we quickly cleaned the plate. our beef fillets were beautifully prepared and plated as well. my husband wished for more vege on his plate, but i found the amount of spinach and pomme fondant provided to be in proportion with the beef (which is a petite serving, but i'm a petite person and often restaurants tend to overfeed customers). the chocolate mousse cake was to die for. just heavenly. the cinnamon ice cream blended perfectly, but i loved mixing it with the chocolate biscuit over the mousse. i highly recommend every option we consumed! if you aren't in a rush, and want to eat later (pre-theater must vacate by 7:30pm) there is a wine pairing ($140) and non-wine pairing ($90) dinner option or you can simply order a la carte. the service was attentive, profesional and friendly and the atmosphere is chique, warm and intimate. a great date night atmosphere.

i went there for the first time with my wife for valentine’s day. the surroundings was very pleasant, with an expressively dark yet beautiful and modern decor inside. i was drawn, albeit mesmerizingly, to the designer mirror located on the far side of the wall. the ambiance was very pleasant, quiet and intimate which is ideal if you're wanting to celebrate a special evening with your significant other or wishing to impress on a date. the service, although attentive and friendly, did feel somewhat obligatory by nature. the food and visual presentation of each plate was exquisite, as one would expect from a fine dining restaurant. however, even after ordering an entree, a main, and a dessert – i still felt hungry afterwards. this was disappointing given the relatively high cost of the fine dining experience. the menu comprises small to medium sized portions which reflects a well-meaning intent of quality over quantity. in my opinion, there are other local establishments offering a similar fine dining experience with notably more value for money. however, the saggio di vino’s experience is unique enough to definitely be worth a visit.

me and my partner went there as our first date night for a long long time. we booked a table for us online, which was easy and very convenient. so we went there. as we went thru the door there was a women who came to us,my partner sayd that we had a table booked, but the woman looked at us (me) bit suspiciously,i felt if we wouldn't had a booking they wouldn't let us in. we wer the only young couple there. and maybe my dress code was bit too short for her liking.... anyway, got our table, had to wait about 10-15 min to get our menus (food and drink). finally got the menus, then we had to wait again until someone finally took our order. food came fast. food was really nice, exempt the duck fat fries-as my partner said they were like reheated mcdonald chips... luckily we shared a bowl (6$). desert was delisious. got 2classes of wine each and food and it costed 200$. bit expensive for my liking and for this experience.
