nice food and nice service. looking a little old inside and parking it horrible at the moment so would definitely choose delivery over eating in

sadaf is always a safe choice when we are craving great chelo kebabs koobideh and mixed grills!
no fancy decoration. systematic and efficient service. accomodating staff. their fujairah branch did not let us down. great quality at a reasonable price!

my order: harees, chicken kebab koubideh

this is a beautiful persian restaurant with amazing ambiance. it has a separate family section with curtains for privacy.

they serve you complimentary jow soup which is quite healthy.
harees is plain and very healthy. if you are an indian, you would find it bland. but it’s healthy as it’s devoid of spicy masalas. it tastes nice with some salt and lime juice.

kebab koubideh is served with roti(bread) or rice along with boiled veggies and salad. accompaniments include raita and pickles. kebab koubideh is great. it is simple and rich. i love it with hummus or raita and pickle.

the meal ended with some chaas(buttermilk) which is again complimentary.

it was a great experience. would love to visit again

oh my god! once again oh my god!
it was around december 2018 and we went on a road trip to fujairah.
someone suggested sadaf restaurant and oh my god!

okay the food came very very late.
the bread was sooo cold.
we ordered soup and few of us got it. few did not.
there was nobody serving us and we were almost 7 guys. had to shout to get the waiter . once he came and we asked for something, he never returned.

oh my god! zomato! seriously these type of restaurants should be banned on your site. they dont deserve a platform like this.

we wanted to try this place from a very long time, finally got a chance last friday after long drive. the place looks pretty old from inside out, even the menu books looks really old. as for the overall taste, its pretty average but i felt the it is priced higher than the value we get. biggest negative for the restaurant was the slow service, we had to call them each time as no one was around to attend to you as you please. overall it was just average experience, probably my last time there.

taste -4/5
service -2/5
price -2/5
location -3/5

was in the emirate of fujairah for work. as is a ritual with me, i have to check out a restaurant or anything related to food whenever i am far from home in dubai. so this time around it was sadaf restaurant in fujairah. though they are a restaurant chain and have branches in dubai too, i have not been to any of their restaurants before. the reference of this place came from a friend who works for "lonely planet" and another blogger friend from fujairah which had me zero down on this place for my visit. i love iranian food and was quite excited to check this place out.

the exterior of this restaurant was quite modest. the interior was quite simple compared to what opulence we have here in restaurants in the middle east. however these were quite compensated for by their, warm, friendly and very alert service. the moment you are ushered to your seat, on your table will be placed a basket of iranian flat bread, bowls of mast o kheyar ( chopped cucumber in flavoured yogurt), mixed salad platter, soup of the day and my favourite iranian laban. these are all complimentary and quite elaborate i must say. i am a huge fan of iranian laban ( yogurt drink) and this one won my heart too.

we went straight ahead ordering the main course of zereshk chicken polo ( iranian stlye flavoured rice with red barberries and chicken) along with chicken chelo kabab kobideh (traditional iranian minced chicken grill served with saffron rice crowned with a dollop of butter). i found the tastes quite pleasing, however i was not blown away by the flavours that hit my palate.

i culminated the meal with a bite of mahalabiya which looked beautiful but didn't live up to my taste buds. i would have liked to try their faloudeh shirazi or bastani ( traditional iranian ice-cream), but mr. s being a mahalabiya lover ordered otherwise.

so if you are in fujairah and would like to eat iranian food, this place is worthy a visit. i still think the laban and the services here were what i took away with me from my visit to sadaf restaurant, fujairah.
