rosa mexicano

one of the best places in los angeles downtown for mexican food. loved it, way much better than the 'commercial food' of chipotle. the decor is pleasant and the servers are very helpful. prior reservations help, however if you don't have it, they make some quick arrangements for you. its near la live, we went there to watch fast and furious 7 and had to finish the meal in quick time, they insured that we did not miss any minute of our movie and were quick in their service. definitely going back again.

medicore. that's how i would describe service at rosa mexicano. the bar was dead monday night yet service was a joke. waited 15 minutes for guacamole only because i had to ask "what's the status on the guacamole?!" our server/bartender was slow and kept mumbling. i had to find the host for the check. all this cost me $100: the food isn't worth another visit...

i was there for a business dinner. the food was very good and the service was excellent. i had the tres enchiladas and the mole on one of them was exceptional!

i visited this place for there special tacos. i love their tacos as they serve the best tacos in downtown. perfectly cooked food and perfectly they serve drinks. amazing ambience with great staff. waiters and bartender behaves well. food quality is amazing as well. visit this place once and you'll visit again!

needed a couple of hours to kill and needed an early meal before catching my red-eye home. sat at the bar, good service and good food. i have been to others in the chain and have never been disappointed.

great mexican restaurant

this is a great restaurant. friendly mexican staff, and very generous portions. the guacamole is made right in front of you and you can get the spice to taste. it sounds simple, but the table water is really cold and refreshing. great place inside and out.

my return to rosa mexicano was beyond disappointing. i was not able to communicate my food allergy (gluten) to the staff, because they did not speak enough english. the chef also did not know enough english to understand that i cannot eat wheat. i was able to explain that i needed corn tortillas instead of flour.

the food quality and flavor has also gone downhill. the enchiladas were mediocre, but absolutely nothing special. i would most certainly not reccomend this restaurant to anyone, and i myself will not return.

watching competitive sports to me is often like watching italian melodramas: i sort of know what’s going on but mostly i’m in a daze. the solution to this problem…actually attending a live game!! sitting in a packed stadium like the staples center   with the adrenaline of fans cheering and music pumping was more than enough to make me a fan, even if just for the night. even more fun than chanting rounds of lets go lakers is the large beer and bottomless popcorn i enjoyed! and yes it really is bottomless-no shame here ladies if you’d prefer to class it up a bit, you can always eat a civilized dinner at l.a. live after the game.  i recommend rosa mexicano   if you want a fun sit-down, or ion rooftop lounge   if are craving small bites and atmosphere. will i be watching the lakers on tv this friday night? probably not…but count me in for the thrill of live action anytime!

awesome mexican food. i love going to this place. the food is amazing. very tasty. i have been here so many times that i have lost count. my friends, family, whoever i took there loved their food and ambiance. there table side guacamole is very expensive and overrated but other than the food is awesome. do try it.

service was slow and my fish was burnt.

carne asada*. it was decent. not nearly enough food for $25 and it wasn't that good as leftovers. the homemade tortillas were pretty good though!

i don't understand why this is only 82% because it is one of the best mexican restaurants we have eaten in los angeles. cesar was our waiter and he is fabulous, friendly & efficient. go, you will not be sorry.

poor service & raw churros. we had dinner on friday evening at rosa mexicano. the guacamole was very fresh and tasty. the tortillas on the scallop and pork belly tacos were at best lukewarm and fell apart as i folded over the taco. the pomegranate margaritas appeared to be from a mix. worst of all were the churros and the service. despite the restaurant being less than half full, the waiters took forever to stop by the table, and the churros were raw on the inside. what we thought was perhaps a filling turned out to be runny dough. when i mentioned, the waiter seemed to not be concerned. the restaurant is attractive and has a great locale, but i would not return here nor would i recommend it to anyone.

i was skeptical about a mexican restaurant that is part of small chain originating in new york city, but i was quickly and completely won over. the restaurant is quite beautiful with vibrant colored lights and a waterfall and it has a fun, sexy atmosphere.

terrific entrees and good service... appetizers, chips and salsa, drinks, and dessert were a let down. perhaps their other locations would be better.
