have been waiting months to go here but nsr road is such a hassle to park on!
finally made our way to rock stone one summer afternoon and ordered:
lychee double double
italian love affair
all berry bang
rock stone banana split.
we were the only ones there and service was reasonably quick. they seem to have a lot of varieties of ice cream cakes as well! but we'll save that for a special occasion.
the lychee ice cream was very low in flavor. barely detectable.
italian love affair was heavenly! coffee ice cream with chocolate on top (as pictured). the waffle with the chocolate tips, however, was horrible. i'm sorry to say! the plain waffle was great but the chocolate tipped one tasted really bad. very artificial, chemical-y flavor.
berry bang was tangy and had a rich citrus taste. no complaints there.
the banana split wasn't the very best. the serving looked big but the dish is quite shallow so there's not much going on. nothing to rave about.
one thing i'd like to add is the ice creams don't melt as you eat them, which is what is supposed to happen. this leads me to believe there's a few anti freezing agents added. this is just an observation and i have no proof of the same. if i'm wrong, i apologise, but in the homemade ice cream shops in coimbatore like richy rich, you find the ice cream melts almost minutes after you remove from the freezer which further enforces that they don't use any preservatives.
however, since this is a chain, like cream stone or ibaco, there is bound to be a central kitchen (freezer) for consistency between branches.
apart from that, it's definitely a good place to hang out! excellent decor.
will be back for the ice cream cakes!!
