great back garden, good food. rivoli is in the middle of the solano ave. restaurant ghetto and is a worthy addition. we ate later on a saturday evening and the dining room, which is quite small, was still packed. we were sat on time though i felt the service, while very friendly, was a bit on the slow side. luckily we weren't in a hurry so that didn't ruin our meal.
the chopped salad was very fresh and tasty. nothing innovative with its mix of butter lettuce, walnuts, bleu cheese, etc but done nicely. a great dish was the portobello mushroom appetizer, a definite must-try. i had the mahi mahi which was served with shaved carrots and mashed potatoes. the fish was good but the potatoes were a little runny for my taste.
they have a nice little mixed cookie dessert which was the perfect size to share for 4. i would certainly recommend rivoli as a nice late-night dining experience.
