culinary institute of america or cia. great to have food in cia 😀.
lucky to get a table. the formal dining room closes at 2 pm. tables need to be booked months in advance. the informal seating near the pizza oven serves smaller menu of pizza and panini sandwiches and soups. opens at 2 till 4.
we ordered margherita pizza and prosciutto. followed by coffee. the location is very nice and impressive as it is inside the campus of the college. that apart, the thin crust pizza we ate at dominoes tasted better and costed half. food taste is above all the most important thing in a restaurant.

1st time last time... ever...worst dinner i think i've ever had... sadly yes.. maybe i had high expectations but my luke warm sea bass wasn't cook and unseasoned.. serve wasn't good either.. over priced and i'll never get those 2 hours of my life back... plus my hard earned money (dinner of 3 was $250)

de medici rules. the campus of cia overlooking the hudson river is reason enough to make a trip here. gorgeous esplanades have commanding views of the mighty water below.

there are 5 restaurants here and all are quite popular reservations are suggested and weekends may be booked weeks or months in advance.

we dined at the ristorante caterina de medici for some wonderful italian food and a new proseco favorite in zardetto. the ingredients for the salads and vegetables were local and prepared to perfection as one might expect from a cadre of talented student almost-chefs. the entree dishes of pasta are of course "to live for". you don't get much eating done if you have to die for the meal!

treat yourself to a stellar meal if you are in the area. the students get a chance to show off their culinary skills and you get a superb meal at an upper moderate price.

this jewel-box of a space has student wait staff and student sous chefs, overseen by their professor/executive chef. the menu is seasonal, and not a minute there was less than fantastic.

great prefixe. i went for a special once a year discount lunch that featured a three course meal for a reasonable price. i remember really enjoying the food, atmosphere, and wait staff.
