rice pot express

almost no chicken in the chicken lo mein dishes. for $11 i expected more than a container of cabbage & semi-dry noodles. this is the second time we have gone to this location & both experiences were the same. had to wait in the car & then was brought to passenger side & i had to turn window down to ask for delivery to my window. no thank you for my business. no extras or anything. this will be my last time here.

could not place an order as requested food was pre packaged and only available that way. unable to customize my order. only request was no onions in the fried rice. pricey for pre packaged food

i've been here a couple of times. i visited mostly because it is close to my house ... the food is just ok. tonight i had hunan chicken .. would have been "ok" if there was chicken in it! this may be my last visit. sometimes close to home is not the best choice.

we wanted to grab a quick bite to eat for dinner on a wednesday night, and rice pot was a restaurant located close where we live, so...hooray rice pot!

om: quality little place! very unassuming on the outside right at the intersection of 380 & lake forest, rice pot express serves up some pretty decent cuisine. i tried the orange chicken with fried rice,wonton soup, and sugar biscuits and nothing disappointed me! i ordered the orange chicken without the heat, and they tailored my order correctly. tasted fresh to me, and the portion was very generous. soup was also very good, though wish there was a larger size and a few more wonton's in it. the sugar biscuits are awesome, and you get about 20 for only a few bucks - they are like little fried sugar donuts! all foods had good flavor and was served up quickly. factoring in the distance and value i think that we will be back if we want some quick chinese food

nom: good things come from expected places sometimes including strip centers at the corner of 380 & lake forest! did we mention how close it is to where we live? i wasn’t very hungry so we stopped by the rice pot for a quick dinner! the place is small but clean and the staff are friendly! my handsome love ordered the orange chicken and they made it just the way he wanted it! bonus points there for sure! i had a cup of egg drop soup and a side of fried rice. it came out steaming hot and in a pretty little cup! but how was it you ask? it was pretty average but still tasty. would i go out of my way for it? no, but if i was in the mood and since it’s down the street, literally, then i would return for more. the fried rice only had egg in it and i missed the veggies but overall it was good. the fact that it’s close to us and the value make it a return destination.

wasn't impressed at all with this place. their take-out menu does not have all the information and everything is vastly overpriced for the portions, to be on par with other restaurants in the area they should lower their lunch specials by a few bucks and $2 for wonton soup with two tiny wontons in it is ridiculous. the beef broccoli is drowned in sauce and their sweet and sour sauce is watered down and bland with the s&s chicken being very greasy. the egg rolls are delicious though and despite the meager portion, the wonton broth was decent. the restaurant was clean inside and the cashier was friendly but for what i'm paying i expect food that tastes better and has better portion sizes because there was barely anything but sauce and rice in my containers.

we've been searching for good asian food but all the ones we tried weren't any good. finally, we tried rice pot and it was delicious! the customer service is great! there is usually a guy and a lady and both are so nice and it's great eating inside. from the outside you wouldn't expect it but its nice inside and really clean. once again the people are great the reviews about the old lady" with bad customer service i have still not seen. rice pot has become our local asian spot. we love it and glad we finally came across it!

very bad customer service, lady at front does not know good english. when i order on the phone they know absolutly no english as well, the counter lady is always rushy and upset, lost my buisness for good...

very bad service, the cashier old lady always mad always they used to have good quality food something change i will never come back and i will tell all my friends and family abou this place sorry

good food horrible service. ordered take out two hours ago, never showed up! called and the poor man had no idea because he didn't speak english very well. i love the food but, will not order again and wait. so sad that they are so busy that my little order didn't matter. it mattered to me!

fresh - fast - great!. very un-assuming from the outside. really good food being prepared on the inside. i went for lunch and ordered one of the lunch specials. they made it fresh. the rice was perfect. the meal really tasted good. i will be back...

horrible delivery, poor portions, poor tasting. yesterday our family of four (including teens) ordered three dishes from rice pot express for a total cost of $25.00 (plus tip).
after waiting almost an hour for food to be delivered, we opened the brown bag only to discover that one of the dishes was missing, the food was cold and the portions were smaller than what we are used to seeing at other chinese restaurants.
what surprised us the most was the rude customer service we received from the manager when we called to explain this.
the cashier was nice and trying to be accommodating but she explained that the manager did not have time to send the driver our way with the missing dish or deal with food the arrived cold with small portions.
i then suggested that i would go pick up the missing dish and was met with hostility on the part of the manager (i could hear her in the background telling the cashier what to tell us).
the manager refused to give us the missing dish or reimburse us for the cost of the dish.
all the cashier could say is that she is new (cashier) and that the manager does this a lot to other customers.
she doesn't like dealing with customer complaints so she just brushes the customers off.
in my 30 years of eating asian food, i have never encountered such rudeness, poor quality service and poor chinese food such as the one i have at this restaurant.,
i would definitely not recommend rice pot express to anyone.
there are much better quality asian food at other restaurants that are in close proximity to rice pot.
