the best of this restaurant is the position, just next to the rhodes memorial and underneath the pine trees. it's a very enjoyable restaurant , perfect for a breakfast or lunch with family or friends. the food is very simple but very well priced for the portions, which are generous. it's better to book and ask for a table with the view.

what could be better than an a late sunday lunch at picturesque rhodes memorial?

beautiful setting, stunning views, birds chirping, bees & butterflies flitting around, ambience pianist playing under the trees. sat under a yellow wood tree and an avo tree.

had a kaapse platter to share which consisted of pickled fish, veg samoosas, snoek quiche, salmon pate and snoek pate with a baguette. food was cold, decidedly average and lacked passion. got the feeling it was just being churned out.
service was below par and orders were being mixed up all around us.

lovely location on the slopes of devil's peak. the views are amazing and it's a very welcoming place. i just popped in for some coffee and a light snack so i went with the ciabatta with garlic butter which was okay. definitely look forward to going back and trying their other menu offerings.

incredibly beautiful setting, overlooking the city of cape town.
however, don't expect anything spectacular in terms of the food and service. perhaps worth visiting for a casual drink or snack, to enjoy the magnificent views.

just a beautiful place to visit on a gorgeous or overcast day, the staff make my friend birthday exact special.

apart from the spectacular setting, i found the service to be among the best in the city. staff were friendly and efficient and even though we only had breakfast, the food was served in not time. menu has a nice selection and prices are reasonable.

the view was fantastic, but the food was not great. egg cooked crispy on the bottom, chips undercooked. overpriced for level of quality served.

very nice coffee shop on rhodes memorial for a morning tea with a scone after a morning walk from newlands forest to rhodes memorial. delightfully freshly baked scone with tasty preserves.

absolutely loved it. it falls under hidden gems and it definitely is that! i took my aunt and uncle for tea and they couldn’t believe the view. we live in one of the most beautiful cities and the delicious food was a bonus!

beautiful view of the city! lovely if you want to spend the morning siteseeing at rhodes and catching a meal at this restaurant. perfect for families, with a playground specially for kids. food was up to standard and resonably priced. i had their sunday roast special which was devine. the waitor was very helpful and patient with our big group.

5 star service- the staff were excellent and very friendly and attentive. they kindly organised a slice of birthday cake for me without any of my friends asking, and i even got a birthday song. i appreciated the thoughtfulness and the friendly service from all staff
5 star view- the view is absolutely stunning! we unluckily managed to get the cold part of the changeable cape town weather, so we had to sit inside, but the outdoor seating is stunning.
food- 3 stars. i liked the presentation but the food wasn’t particularly remarkable. unfortunately my friends didn’t particularly like the hollandaise on the eggs benedict that most of them ordered. the lunches coming out at the end of our meal looked and smelled amazing though, and i’d definitely recommend their cake.

drove very far to find closed doors and a very tiny handwritten note saying “closed on mondays during winter”. yet shows as open everywhere online. dissapointed. *1

gave it another try for breakfast, and was lucky enough to find them open. had scones and coffee, and it was really a pretty amazing scone, with cream, jam, butter and cheese. view was amazing, but lacked any other ambiance. service was slow, considering we were one of 2 tables. not bad, but not great. *3

the perfect way to end off a hike and cave hunting adventure!! rhodes memorial has really good breakfasts and amazing views to take in and rest after a day of hiking!!😊

the highlight was definately the amazing hot chocolate!! also tasted the dom pedro which was one of the best i've ever had with a good kick!😉

the breakfast was also good, however, the one disappointing dish was the pasta which lacked flavour and was quite dry as well! other than that it was a good overall experience. 👍

on of my favourite places to go for brunch as it has a great view and there is always friendly service. definitely a hidden gem in the heart of cape town.

view is breathtaking - neat tourist spot!

food is also fairly priced and the portions are big. we had the on the go breakfast (which includes preserves) and the bacon benedict. food is very "standard" but hits the spot!

staff is friendly and attentive!

will come back 😬
