reposado

on another trek to palo alto when i decided to meet my husband for dinner, we played it a bit more casual and not plan ahead. his boss recommended several places in the area, and we finally decided we should try resposado. i always love trying new places, and i love mexican flavors, so it seemed like an ideal choice. it was also incredibly popular, and we didn’t manage to get a seat until a bit later in the evening, but that could be a great sign, right?

i've never before gone to a mexican restaurant and come out not feeling sick! don't get me wrong, i love mexican food but every place i've gone loads the vegetarian dishes with cheese and at the end of it i'm generally feeling all weird. this place was the classiest mexican restaurant i'd ever eaten at, the ambience and the atmosphere here was the perfect balance between business and casual.

my wife and i are vegetarian and we were truly impressed by the full page menu they had for us! we got a serving of the guacamole which was just perfect, the chips that came along were cooked right and not oily like the other restaurants i've had the "free" chips at. the chips are served with three salsas each with varying hotness quotients but my heat resistant tongue was able to take the heat from them. for the main course we got veggie enchiladas and veggie tacos and they were both great. the quantity is enough to make a large person like me feel like i've had enough food and in safe limits of overeating, the same can be said about the enchiladas as well. the couple we went out with got a seafood dish and a pork dish and they were mighty impressed too! for drinks we just got lemonade and that was really tasty as well, did not taste like those mix and drink lemonade but more like freshly squeezed.

i would highly recommend this place and would definitely visit it again if i someone visiting me from my home country wanted to try mexican. it's a little outside my comfort pricing but hey you pay for the experience.

reposado was a great experience. the food takes a modern approach to authentic yucatán flavors. the layout of the restaurant is open and lends itself to become a little noisy, but i thought that was part of the fun we had. it creates a very festive ambiance. service was good as well. there were times we waited to order the next round of drinks, but everything came out fairly quick.

i ordered the crepas de mariscos and really enjoyed them. the blue corn crepes were wrapped around an abundant amount of shrimp, snapper, and crab meat filling and covered with a creamy poblano sauce. super tasty! the rice had great flavor and texture, especially with the fresh corn the mixed in. spicy margarita was delicious. i though the prices were a little high, but didn't feel disappointed because the food was excellent. already planning my next trip back.

noisy but really good food. excellent food, attentive service, very busy, especially during happy hour, and very loud. this seems like a 'go for a drink after work' type place (of course that's exactly when we were there), but the food is wonderful. we had 4 or 5 small plates and all were delicious. lots of margaritas - but weak ones. they also need a hearty dark beer. negra modelo just doesn't do it. i will return.

overall i like reposado and have been there a number of times since it opened. great atmosphere, margaritas, chips & salsa, and guac. in general i like the food; however, on last two visits i had the clado de mariscos and the hamachi. although i had both dishes in the past and enjoyed, they had a strong fishy taste on my recent trips (i couldn't eat the hamachi after the first bite). this left me questioning the freshness of the seafood. i'll be back, but plan to stay away from the seafood going forward.

great!. one of my favorite places in palo alto. food and service is consistently great, the atmosphere is fantastic, the staff are professional, well informed, and obviously care about their work. tequila and mescal selection is well thought out from a very knowledgeable perspective. the brunch menu on sat. and sun. is something to look forward to all week.

some of these reviews are purely moronic. this place doesn't represent itself as anything other than refined mexican/central american; and it succeeds in a big way. reviews criticising for lack of authenticity simply don't get it, and for lack of "fire" don't understand finer dining and refined tastes. a very good restaurant.

nice looking restaurant and great service. i'm sure the bar is great as well. however i found the food to be good but lacking in authenticity and definitely did not justify the price.

hopping place!. i thought the food was excellent, and the service was exceptional.

the food was overall good, not to spicy, while still able to enjoy the taste of each dish. i thought the margaritas were a tad bit watered down and a little to expensive, the food dishes i thought were priced right. the service was marginal. our food order came out fairly quickly but the waitress seem to forgot about us after our order was completed. they had some nice latin music piped in the background which was nice. after the restaurant filled up we could barely hear each other. our lack of hearing each other speak was a little anoying. overall i would suggest it and would try the food again, but i would try to come early for dinner and not order any margaritas which kinda sucks because the place does its best to relax you and put you into the mood for good mexican cuisine.
