the only place we eat burgers!. this place we found on accident-just moved into the area, needed food, and love it!
i can't believe the low rating it has here on urbanspoon.
the meat is from ddmeats, hometown butcher...we always get the baconater, or the holy moly chicken, their onion rings are the best! and shakes???? perfect!

i've been here 3 times and really liked the food, previously i got burgers and was very happy. this time i got the seafood platter and was very disappointed, there was 1 identifiable piece of shrimp and fish the rest were clam strips presumably. several pieces of the clam strips had raw dough and were only partially fried. under the clams was a fairly significant bed of lettuce to make it appear to have more seafood than there actually is.
when i told the waitress she brought my plate back to the kitchen then returned it at least 15 minutes later refried with my coleslaw now quite warm. when i addressed the problem of the lack of shrimp and fish she said that was normal so i said this quality is normal? then she said no and what did i want? i said is it normal to get only 1 piece of shrimp and fish and she said there are more shrimp and pointed to what looked to me to be clams.
she had what seemed to me a very argumentative attitude so i am simply resigned to not return. if they are not interested in making their reasonable customers happy then they will continue to lose business. i see i am not alone in writing poor reviews of this establishment.

not a bad burger but it took 25 mins for our order in an empty restaurant. "seasoned skinny fries" pictured on the menu turned out to be regular unseasoned fries. when we pointed this out the waitress she informed us that we could have more seasoning but those were the fries and that we wouldn't be charged for them. ok. things got weird when some guy in the kitchen sent her out to take the fries back which were in a basket with the burger!

i've been to red onion twice now and both times they messed up the order. the first time, they fortunately caught their error before i left the restaurant and quickly made the burger. today, i didn't discover the missing burger until i got home and opened the bag. i'm not going to write a 1* review based on this happening once...but twice? so i'm 0-for-2 with the red onion and won't be going back.

poor customer service.... the customer service was poor. they were not attentive nor were they detail oriented, they (she) was not very nice (grouchy, didn't say thank you for coming to the restaurant, kind of rude in a lot of ways). we were a little miffed when they charged us $.25 for a tablespoon of bbq sauce when our bill came to a total of $41.00, i thought that was a bit much. the food was mediocre except for the onion rings and the flavor of the wings. the wings were $5.99 and there were 5 of them and they were very small, but they tasted good. the 'chile' was fried hamburger with peppers and onions...very strange. we will not go back and that is unfortunate because when we walked in and saw the menu, it looked like a cute place that could have had a lot to offer.

steer clear. dear urban spoon food diary,

tonight, i wasted money on a "baconator" burger which had a cold thin, mechanically-formed, previously-frozen, flavor-lacking burger patty. "skinny seasoned fried", which were neither shoestring, nor seasoned...not even salted. fish and chips...burned batter, overdone, not seasoned. corndog bites (for my kids) were also burned and overdone -oddly, they also taste like cucumber.

"heated mac and cheese"...what does that even mean? maybe 'heated' means microwaved? maybe it was suppose to be spicy? all i can tell you, is that at $2.45, you get about 2 ounces of extremely bland mac and thickened milk.

$33 for something that dennys could have executed much better.

and now i'm off to buy replacement dinner...

great local spot. yummy and cheap. plus they use meat from the happiest place on earth for carnivores (and hot sauce lovers), double d meats. super nice people and creative burgers and other items.

bad. accidentally went to this place, looking for another joint that people like in the are. i decided to try it. the "burger meals" didn't come with fries or anything on the side, it is the only burger joint in america that i've been to that has the audacity to charge you 9 bucks for a mediocre burger and not give you fries. the waitress was bumbling, didn't write anything down, checked back 3 times and still messed up the order. the best part was reading the paper menus, comically packed full of misspellings i'm sorry - but if you can't proof read your own menu, i have a hard time believing you will try all that hard with actually cooking the food... worst thing, when we left, the lady at the counter said "oh did you guys get caught wanting fries?!" yeah, i ordered a meal and paid for it, also when i bought my new car, i got caught wanting a windshield to come with it; because that's what you expect. what a joke.

overpriced. we were pretty excited when the red onion opened up. the atmosphere is nice and the menu has a lot of options. we have been there a few times and the food is pretty good, but the prices are too much for what you get. we have been going to the big e burgers instead becuase their prices are much better and food is less greasy.
also, we found the staff to be unfriendly and that is just not what you look for in a local burger joint like this.
