razzoo's cajun cafe

horrible service! predominantly mexican staff which will choose if they want you to sit or not (i have a family of 5 including myself) . experienced a racist situation in which the general manger would not address because “he seen no wrong with it”. not family oriented or for baa clearly!

liked the food.

between us we got the chicken creamy cajun fondue dip, spicy chicken & sausage gumbeaux, shrimp basket, and tchoupitoulas.

the fondue was interesting and tasty - basically a cheese dip with chicken and spices served with several pieces of toasted garlic bread.

the spicy chicken & sausage gumbeaux was good but had a hint of seafood taste. might want to stay away from this one if you have those allergies.

the shrimp basket came with a tasty cherry mustard sauce and a side of coleslaw. it worked well.

the tchoupitoulas was pretty much a grilled and seasoned chicken breast atop a mixture of diced potatoes, diced ham, and mushrooms. it was all topped with what appeared to be hollandaise sauce. it too worked well.

service was prompt, friendly, and competent.
store appeared clean and was decorated in a cajun theme.

i have heard rave reviews from friends and family about razzoo's. i wasn't impressed. it wasn't terrible but it wasn't outrageously delicious. i think it's just the chain in it that ruins the authenticity.  the menu is confusing. i know it's supposed to be cute but it could make people have seizures, if they stare too long. meh is my response to razzoo's.

great bargain for great food. outside of the big easy this place is pretty darn good.the spice mixes used in their recipes are pretty spot on. no one is going crazy with the cayenne or with the salt shaker back in the kitchen. the gumbo is good.they even have pepper shakers with gumbo fillet out on the tables.the coatings used on the fried cat fish and gator are delicious. don't forget to top your meal off with their authentic bread pudding....yuummmmyyy!!!!

pleasant, courteous service and good food to boot. tried the fried crawfish and the shrimp both were cooked well and quite tasty.

great food and service. you have to try the stuffed shrimp.

my sister wants to come back to visit just to go to razoos. great food. stuffed fish and stuffed shrimp are the best. gator is good too for appetizer.

service was no good. me and my wife live in mesquite and eat at razzoos alot and have always had good service. we ate there on 3/17/10 and the service sucked. first off they were seating people out of line. there were a couple there before us and they tried to set us before them and we had to tell them the other couple was there first. well when we got seated we sat at our table for about 30 min. before we got something to drink. we sat another 30 min. before they took our order then it took about 30 to 45 min. before or order came out. all in all it sucked.

the atmosphere was great, my child loved the decorations and the drinks were great. i was not too thrilled with the food but it was not horrible so can't complain. great place for atmosphere and drinks though.
