there are many good bbq joints in columbus. i think the people raving about ray ray's have not been to any of them. ray ray's is average at best.

awesome. simply some amazing bbq. i've been a few times and have never had a bad meal. last time i got the grassfed brisket which was incredible. the meat itself was flavorful and perfectly smoked, but the real star was the sauce. the most delicious bbq sauce i've ever had anywhere in the country. everything really tastes like it has been given that handcrafted touch. the sides are good (greens are great, you can actually tell that they are leaves and not green mush! plus there's chunks of meat floating around in em!). and they actually use good bread for their sandwiches! you know that when you're standing in line and they bring in fresh baked bread you're in for a treat. perfectly toasted on the outside and soft on the inside. a little pricey, but you're paying for some serious quality here. service is always great as well, friendly and quick.

great meat + great sauce + great bread = one amazing bbq sandwich. give this place a shot.

wow. i visited ray ray's last week for the first time....and it won't be long before i return. got the brisket sandwich with collard greens and baked beans - wow was the only thing i could think while eating... awesome sandwich, very good greens, and the beans had so much flavor - sort of smoky. i'll have to make this a regular stop for brisket.... and so i can try the pulled pork, ribs, and mac/cheese.

really good! the food is outstanding. i had the grass fed brisket sandwich. the brisket was super tender and had great smoke. i had the sweet sauce on the side. i only used a little here and there. i wanted to taste the meat and the smoke. it was glorious. the bun was high quality. i also had the cheesy potatoes - great side dish. my son had the jerked chicken sandwich and my wife, the pulled pork. they both liked theirs quite a bit. i wish i lived closer. i’d be there a couple times a week.

i started hitting a lot of food trucks as the weather got nicer and remembered a friend telling me about how good ray ray's was. unexpectedly, it surpassed the hype entirely. the beef brisket is my usual, while i have yet to try anything that isn't great. while the line is usually fairly long, the friendly staff and awesome food quickly remind me that the wait was worth it every time. if you want good barbecue, this is the place.

i was slightly disappointed with my stop at ray ray's hog pit after hearing such exceptional reviews about it. i ordered the beef brisket sandwich with a medium side if baked beans after waiting in the slow line for about 15 minutes. this came to $11 which seemed just slightly expensive for a simple sandwich and side from a food truck but nothing outrageous. the brisket was okay but somewhat dry and definitely needed some sauce. i wasn't a fan of the sweet sauce either- it had a cinnamon flavor that really overpowered the rest of the sauce and made it pretty mediocre overall. the bread was average as well. the baked beans, however, we're excellent with nice chunks of chopped pork through. despite being disappointed with this visit, i may have to give ray ray's another shot sometime to see if this visit was simply a fluke.

top ten favorite. this is the real deal - barbecue so good it needs no sauce but if you'd like a little, ray ray's variety of sauces are amazing. the smoke is the thing - present in every bite. my habit is to buy a pound of the pulled smoked pork early in the weekend and make some pork posole soup. the smoke from the meat infuses the broth and takes everything to the next level. favorite sauce is the jalapeno and the carolina pulled pork sandwich and ribs and sides are the best food truck meal ever. the only regret here is they're only open on weekends.

heard all the hype and finally got there. disappointed ribs were very dry. tough and barely enough meat to cover bone. brisket and pulled pork were good but that's it not raving special. just good. but ribs were not good ;(. holy smoke bbq and city bbq are better. focusing on holy smoke being the best. disappointed hoped for better at ray rays. wish could find like salt lick in austin tx but here in ohio!! search continues ....

best bbq around. fair prices. good portions. it's worth the extra couple bucks for the grass-fed brisket on sundays, best brisket i've had in the city. only problem is they only open weekends and they can sell out if you dont get their early sometimes!

now a bbq lover. i was always a little "meh" about barbeque. i mean, it's good, it's meaty and yum and some nice sauce, but. . . .then i experienced the heavenly goodness that is ray ray's. i like my ribs best unsauced here, they are that good. fan of the vinegary carolina style pork too. and the brisket can almost make me weep. i like to cook my own sides and bring it home. there are rarely any leftovers.

the menu is simple, self explanatory, and with out pretension. there are three regular sandwiches; beef brisket, pulled pork, and carolina pulled pork. all three are amazing, but the carolina is definitely my favorite of the three. the vinegar-based sauce is delicious, and the cole slaw slopped on the meat adds a creamy texture and counterweight to acidity.
