raven cafe

i love the rooftop area . nice view of thumbutte , located in the heart of downtown prescott . the service is lacking for sure . you have to wait in line at the bar downstairs to place even a drink order . then carry it upstairs . staff will bring food order to you ; however if you want a to replenish you drink . gotta treck back downstairs to do so . on the other hand , the beer and wine collection is quality . the raven supports local growers . menu is healthy and mainly organic . if they could vamp up service it would be helpful .

seems all good things must come to an end . . .. started frequenting the raven when it first opened and really enjoyed it. however, this past weekend we took guests from out of town to enjoy good food, drink and music. alas, this didn't happen. i agree with the reviews that the restaurant is in decline. although the wine and beer were tasty, the music was way too loud for such a small place and the food was overpriced for such meager amounts. ordered the bagel and lox (sunday brunch) and was served crumbled salmon fillet instead. with all the other great places to eat in prescott, i'm sorry to say we won't be returning to the raven.

love their food and beer selection! ambiance is always appealing to any crowd! highly recommend. friendly staff and the summer movie nights has been an interesting twist! upstairs patio has a beautiful view!

unfortunately, raven cafe, a popular restaurant in prescott's charming downtown neighborhood, does not live up to the hype. despite many rave reviews, i was totally disappointed in my experience at raven cafe. unfriendly staff, a limited menu, and a noisy rushed atmosphere are not what i consider to be a quality restaurant experience. add in a management who could care less and you have an unbelievably poorly run business.

i went there three days in a row and would of gone for four but they close early on sunday.

my favorite eatery in prescott - sometimes we'll make a day trip from phoenix just for their delicious breakfast. as a gluten and dairy free nosher i always feel comfortable coming here on vacation. i usually order the eggs with potatoes and bell pepper and a piping hot vegan rice milk vanilla latte and everything is delicious! a side note: they do use traditional ketchup, so if you can't have corn, bring a small bit of your own :)

traditional breakfast. excellent !!! the english muffin was outstanding with the two jams ! potatoes were beautiful and the eggs were perfect.

not really organic is it now ?????. very sad day, the raven has been deceiving us for years. not ok in my book.

are there really any 100% organic meals at this so called "organic" café?

please ask the chef the next time you go in what is really organic. you will be as shocked as we were. they sell organic salsa with crappy conventional chips, a grass fed burger with bad sweet potato fries, an organic chicken pita without an organic pita? how is this organic?

when we asked the owner, his response was that it was hard to find good sources. then please do not sell us that sub pare garbage, especially if you are selling it to potential children. i have never intentionally given my 2 year old son nitrates, until i found out that the corn dogs they were selling were garbage. it makes me sick, especially knowing my wife ate many bad products while she was pregnant and nursing our son. this is the first restaurant in our town to even try to offer organic meals, and we greatly appreciate it, but please....if you are going to "do it"..."do it!" if not, inform people. we put our trust in you, and should not have to inquire about each and every item when we come in. we read your organic product board, we read your amazing mission statement, we see the passion and dedication in your employees, so please...don't let us down behind the scenes. give us a place that we can truly be proud to call "home." please give us a reason to come back, because until then, we won't. dale & melanie

fun place. what a fun place with live music. sat up on top of building for outdoor dinning and it was wonderful. now you do have to place your orders yourself at the bar, then they will come and server the food to your table. nice selection of beer on tap. we were at table of 6 and everyone raved about their meal. i had the spinach salad with bacon it hit the spot. someone else had the big ruben sandwich with sweet potato fries and loved it. a good time was had by all.

never more......... my family and i went to the raven about 18 months ago and we loved it. went back this past weekend and it was terrible. worse yet, we had been warned by other locals that it was in decline, but we went forward anyway, big mistake.

service was aloof, we ordered two coffee drinks and two breakfast sandwiches. we tried to order a pastry of some sort but were told they had none. (a cafe with no pastries?).

so we waited, and waited, and waited. finally after 35 minutes the 2 egg sandwiches came out, just the sandwiches. the accompanying sides were absent. our server mumbled something about a fryer being *something* as he briskly retreated. ten minutes later the home fries showed up, hot, which was the highlight of the meal. the sandwiches were bland and un-seasoned, the breads were soggy and untoasted, the melted cheese was waxy, the whole thing was just above room temperature, and the tomatoes looked like yesterdays (or they were sliced with a hammer).

i tried to find a salt shaker for the fries, there were 5 for the entire dining room, 1 ketchup bottle, and the 1/2 and 1/2 thermos was broken so it weebled and wobbled and fell down.

frustrated and underwhelmed, we were getting ready to leave when a server approached us with a pained expression.
"is everything okay?" i said "no, not really....," but before i could say anymore she backed away saying "i'm really sorry, i don't know what's going on in the kitchen," and practically ran away.

so, you should run away from the raven, and return never more.

love it or leave it. this is the kind of place where you will feel right at home with "your kind of people" or you'll feel vaguely uncomfortable by the political correctness. i went for breakfast and there aren't very many choices and the value isn't very good. it values image over good eats.

i thought this place was cute, a little pricey but kinda worth it! staff was very friendly and food was all fresh. ordered the greek flatbread pizza and loved it!

very nice establishment. breakfast was basic egg potatoes and bacon or avocado but it was very good. the lattes were excellent and the atmosphere is very trendy. good seating area. organic and local food available.

absolutely delicious breakfast! portion was perfect, i was hungry. they allowed substitutions. i wish i had gotten a welcoming smile from the lady at the counter, taking orders. cook was nice, he brought our food.

need a new breakfast place. we used to love going to the raven for brunch on sunday. lately the food has been at 30 minutes wait and the food comes out cold. my kids were so irritated and antsy we almost left and got our money back. for a 50.00 brunch i would expect it to at least come out warm. time to find a new breakfast place.
