ranchman's cookhouse & dancehall

went there for the marshall burger since it was burger festival. it was in house patty with cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato fried onion petals chipotle mayo topped with a fried pickle spear. they had generous portion of crispy fries. it was super dark and really loud. the burger was quite fresh and tasty

love ranchmans! have been here multiple times for food and drinks and wouldn’t go anywhere else
that’s close to home! the brisket is amazing!

it's a dancehall, not a food hall,  the only reason to eat is if your night is running long.   went last night for the pbr bull riding event.  it was a blast.   during stampede this is a fantastic place to spend a night or two.  take a cab, the parking lot and roads nearby are always full of police.
the music is live, the place is rocking and the party is non stop on  a weekend any week  of the year.  but stampede.  well it is calgary at its western core.

calgary's original cowtown bar. think travolta in gilleys. the food isn't anything to write home about unless you actually enjoy grey oversteamed cow on a dry bun with sickly sweet sauce, but it's a piss up, especially at stampede which makes it a cultural must see.

went here last thursday night. music was good but it was dead! maybe 20 people around midnight. the staff were nice enough, looked bored though.

ranchman's is a bit of an institution in calgary. definitely worth a visit if you're a tourist (or even a local). it's a big ol' fashioned country dancehall. if you're going to go for food, go early, as in the evening it is a very busy bar. we recently ate here and were pleasantly surprised. the nachos came out loaded with toppings and were done excellently. we also got a platter of wings and ribs which weren't too bad as well. the service was pretty decent, considering how busy it was. come later in the night and you'll see some good live country music as will as some line dancing. worth a visit. give the mechanical bull a try too!

it's a bar. stick to the bottled beer (ask for your beer from the back of the fridge, or it will be warm). dancing is great. fun place to unwind and drink (not eat). :-)

discrimination due to breast cancer. if you have breast cancer please do not go to the ranchmans. this happened to me on march 27, 2015. i have limited mobility in my arms (due to mastectomy and lymp nodes removed) so i could not do up the zipper on my dress. i asked the coat check girl to do up my dress when i took my coat off and then went to the washroom. i was then asked to leave the ranchmans in the washroom because i was "impaired". i was not impaired but called my personal driver jermal to drive me home. but that apparently was not good enough and i was harrassed and told they were calling the cops on me because i was standing outside waiting for my driver. i was not impaired and my driver will testify to that as he has seen me impaired before and i was not. what really upset me was the lack of empathy and caring for my situation. they could care less about my situation and could not fathom the fact that i could not do up my dress by myself. i have gone to the ranchmans for over 30 years and even have a valued customer card and have never been treated so poorly in my entire life. we as survivors need to unite and say enough of this terrible treatment and do something about this!!!!

this is my type of place where i can kick my boots on the table and enjoy a cold one and down some good country food! then after i am done head to the dance floor and enjoy some 2 stepping the rest of the night with the daisy dukes that frequent this place. yahoo!!!!

like to dance. went to the ranchmen's last friday and had a great time and our waitress was very good. we had a small problem and the manager was called over. her name was rae and she was amazing. very professional, friendly and solved our problem immediately. was so impressed by how she spoke so politely to her staff and how efficient she was. i will certainly return to this club again. great to get that kind of service. congratulations ranchmens.

a good time. food is fresh and hot. good service. loved the burgers. turns into a night club in the evening (no kids). a unique experice. a must do. highly recommended

i would recomend staying clear of ranchmans it is dirty and the management "team" obviously dont know what they are doing.. the food was good service ok at best. they should give up as they are obsolete. thats my opinion...

starving dancer. service very slow,both kitchen and wait staff.several times waited
half hour to 45 min for wings ,when there were only a few tables
occupied.most of the people ordering are dancers and we have a short time window before 7:00pm
harris needs to go to dixons pub to see how these pros operate

third times the charm. o.... third times the charm.

order hot wings in their wing night and they come to the table looking super dry with some color on half. so naturally send them back and they come out cold.

third time and they were decent. hope the food is better next time.

worst service ever! we had the limo service pick us up from my home and the driver could not find my house, i had to drive down to the local coop for him to meet us there. once we arrived at the cookhouse private limo entrance they hassled my friend when getting in and would not accept her drivers license. after finally getting in we sat down to get food and the snotty waitress rudely said "we don't serve food here" and walked away. we left right after, basically all we got was a ranchmans sponsored limo ride to the macleod trail mcdonalds!
