last week i was at the newest lounge - raise the bar - in khajaguda, right above tonique and opposite good vibes cafe. housed on the 4th floor, the lounge greets you with a lit alley that leads to the lounge. a well-stocked bar takes up the centre area along with a dj deck at the side. they have comfortable seating spaces across the cafe.
for starters, we had spinach cheese cigarolls, kung pao waterchestnut, beetroot galauti and falafel n aioli. spinach cheese cigarolls were pretty good. kung pao waterchestnut was nicely done. it was crisp and coated nicely in the sauce. falafel and aioli was the classic falafel and hummus platter.
the thin crust pizza was pretty different from the others that i've had. it had cherry tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, olives, peppers, broccoli and arugula. flamed cottage cheese slab is a big slab of paneer grilled with herbs, stuffed with veggies put on a bed of creamy mash and veggies.
for teetotalers like me, we started with the basil and sprite based drink that had almost no sugar and was perfect on taste. the next drink i tried was watermelon based aerated drink along with watermelon, mango drink and a classic virgin mojito.
for desserts, they have liquor-infused gulab jamuns and cinnamon rolls to the teetotaler version of the same. we were served the classic brownie with ice cream along with rum apple cinnamon rolls.
being one of the first lounges in the area, raise the bar truly raises the spirits in khajaguda, rai durgam area. i was invited to experience a place that is nothing short of lively with upbeat music and live performances to fire up the dance floor. whether you are a teetotaler, tippler or meat-eater, they've got you covered.
