proto's pizza

this delicious mint julep is from proto's pizza in boulder

i really like protos pizza. they have a nice selection of better than average toppings and a decent bar. they have a pretty delicious gluten free crust (as far as gluten free crust goes) too.
i like their clam pizza, plain ol' cheese and the atomic. the cesar salad is fair, could use a little extra flavor and pizzazz. the bloody mary martini is hit and miss. when it's on, it's delicious. i wish they would be more consistent with this. the staff is always prompt and friendly. a great place for dinner after an evening summer bike ride and it's very warm and cozy in winter as well.

this is really good "gourmet" pizza cooked in a brick oven. crust is thin and crispy. san marzano tomatoes. yum.

awesome. excellent pizza and salad with a drink for $10 during lunch. get the proto pie. it is the best.

best pizza around, great atmosphere, get the low rider pizza pie!!! u will def be amazed at the friendly staff and great assortment of wines

super pizza and great staff. we had a late dinner after a long flight and it was perfect. the crust was thin yet chewy crispy. the topping choices were great. the small salad was good sized. the waiter was helpful and a good sense of humor. the cannoli weren't filled until we ordered. all in all a great meal.

friday is clam pizza day!!! trust me, as a chicago pizza "snob" i was very skeptical... but i tried it and loved it! ordered a 2nd. it's the thin ..... really thin crust that is cooked in a wood burning oven that rocks this pizza !! more of a "gourmet" type pizza and worth a try.

great thin crust. if you are a fan of new haven style pizza, here it is! thin amazing crust. this place is wonderful. yes, a little on the spendy side for pizza, but worth it. my most favorite is friday night, which is clam pizza night. when not in on a friday night, the ruby pie is outstanding.

happy hour hot spot. although a bit costly for pizza, proto's pizza is one my frequent restaurant stops in longmont. the pizzas are handmade and hand fired in a classic pizza oven for all to watch. proto's rounds out heir menu nicely with handmade italian beverages, salads, and diverse range of high end pizza toppings. i strongly suggest the atomica if one likes a bit of fire. the deserts are delightful and abide by the italian theme. take out or dine in but be warned if dining in arrive early if thursday or friday are your targeted nights as the relaxed interior fills up rapidly. if at all possible, i would advocate arriving for happy hour, from 4pm to 6pm, and ordering off the happy hour menu to sample the fare (and reduce drink prices). all in all, if one has not been to proto's i propose adding it to your wish list promptly.

what can i say... just a good lil place for some great pizza and italian sodas! very good

if you enjoy flavorless crackers with tomatos from a can... try this pizza. blah at best. two daisy forks down.

the best pizza i have ever eaten. i have had pizza around the country & around the world. no one even comes close. if you like pizza then you will love protos. if not, you need some sense slapped into you.
