went for dinner with colleagues recently. i cant recall the name of the burger i got, but it had kimchi and pork belly and spinach (arugula was out, sadly). the burger was spectacular and the parmesan fries that came with it were pretty good too. we were mostly there for the decent (but not amazing) beer selection. id like to go back with the wife and try more things. definitely worth checking out.

had been meaning to try pint central for awhile and belated birthday celebration made a great excuse. we sat outside and our group was really pleased to see that there was plenty of room outside and the picnic tables were not crammed together.
bonus: that night they were having a live painting event which made it even more fun to sit outside.

onto the food. we started with (2) orders of avocado fries which were delicious. could have easily downed another order and even my 10-year-old niece loved them. also ordered the roasted vegetables which were surprisingly well seasoned and also went fast.

moved onto burgers for dinner and i chose the korean burger which features pork belly strips, kimchi and  spicy korean sauce. delicious, but beware it is spicy! breakfast burger was a also tasty - who doesn't want an egg and hash browns on their burger?

good beer selection although lately my go to is birdsong jalapeno pale ale.

service was friendly and although we were stuck with out napkins and flatware during our app course we dug in anyway as we were starving. not a big deal. server brought them as soon as we made him aware.

provoleta. very simple but amazing dish! provolone cheese melted in an iron skillet with spices served with toasted bread. simple but hits the spot!

really like it! we hung out.... really like it!
we hung out with executive chef and owner mario flynn (ask to say hello) and he suggested our choices. all of them were good.
we had a mix of appetizers and beers:
bbq pork belly
chicken jalapeño bacon poppers
chimichuri beef tips
provoleta baked cheese
avocado bean egg rolls
delicious dark beers
good music
reasonable prices
will definitely come back.

carlos & family did a great job. i met carlos (one of the owners) while playing trivia at a bar in the dilworth area about a year ago and he mentioned his family was going to be opening up a restaurant in plaza midwood. i recently ran into him again at salon 1226 which happens to be right next door to pint central and he told me they do trivia on tuesday nights and i should come check it out. i went with my boyfriend and a few friends last night and it was amazing! we ordered several tapas/appetizers to share and they were all delicious. i can't even pick a favorite right now because i liked them all. we had the caprese salad stack with avocado, avocado fries, mozzarella bites, empanadas, and the chicken sliders. loved all of the local drafts on tap and it didn't hurt that we scored extra points in trivia for drinking them :) overall, i think that the place was great and we look forward to going back next tuesday!

i love charlotte and all of its ever changing, constantly growing neighborhoods. if you read this spot enough, you know i live in plaza midwood and i’m a huge fan of the restaurant, bar, shopping, cultural scene that’s right at my doorstep. i was elated early last summer when the former paint/hardware store in my backyard was undergoing a transformation into a new bar restaurant concept. i monitored the project week after week with increasing curiosity about what new hot spot was going to open, and i counted down the days that i could just pop over for some food and a beer (to be fair, one of the advantages of living in plaza midwood is that everything is so easily accessible by walking and i don’t have to trek very far of anything i crave–burgers, pizza, tapas, sushi, sandwiches, barbecue and so much more are a five minute walk from me. so lucky). but the idea of having a place basically next door was just music to my ears.

my new favorite spot in town! they have a great selection of beer and wine as well as awesome food to go along with it. who doesn't loveeee avocado fries?! i could eat them everyday. my favorite dish is the salmon with roasted vegetables. everything was so fresh and they make all of their own dressings.
