the servers here are never friendly, but today it was horrendous! the server came over and was very rude and acted like she did not want us there. she took our drink order and brought us our drinks but did not ask if we ready to order. she went and sat at a booth rolling silverware and waited on her customers that were done eating. we waited atleast ten mins waiting for her to come back to our table which she never did. so we got up to leave and i told the manager and he did not care at all. he just said oh no well are you sure you want to leave and i said yes and he said well come back. fat chance! never again! we left and went to braiz’n and they are super nice!

pickle barrel is hit or miss. they rely on college students for staff and it shows. sometimes the food is good, it's too unreliable for me to frequent. my business goes elsewhere until the rep picks up

tho place isn't good anymore! our waitress sneezed in her hand and didn't wash afterwards. poor service.

grease city!. went with family today while we were out christmas shopping. got the cheeseburger and cajun curly fries. good thing there were lots of fries because that was my meal. burger was so greasy the bun had turned to mush! don't get me wrong, i love a good greasy spoon burger but this was ridiculous! i could have squeezed that bun and fried up some more curly fries! inedible! worst burger in monroe!

now what it used to be... we waited 45 minutes for small cold sandwiches and luke warm grease fries. the service was no better. the worst part is no beer menu. i asked for one and the girl told me i just had to go look at the taps on the wall! how lazy do you have to be to not even write the beers on tap down!? this is sad as the new interior updates are nice. to bad mc'ds has better service.

first off, i would like to start off with what's good about pickle barrel. their atmosphere and specials on tuesday and thursday are great!
now for what's bad... i have been an avid pb goer for the past year, and work in the area so i went for lunch pretty regularly. the past three times i have been i have had the absolute worst service in the city of monroe. at one point i even had the owners wife, who still did a horrible job. those same three times my food has been ice cold. all three times i had a burger, which i would assume is their "specialty" but they could not even serve it hot. that, along with the horrible service has turned me away from the restaurant.

i do not know if the owner is ever present anymore, but on one of my visits i watched the tattoed male bartender make "birthday shots" for 6 girls as i waited on my beer for over 12 minutes at the bar. after watching him take a shot with them, topped with diesel 151, which he bragged about (at 6 pm), he finally got around to pouring my beer, which was warm.
needless to say, i will not be returning to this establishment. they obviously have horrible top down management, with no training program, and poor service.

save your time and money and spend it somewhere else. a fair warning.

i had this for the first time in years saturday and i was pleased. one suggestion though, please dust your ceiling. there was dust all over the ceiling surrounding two vents in the center of the restaurant. if i noticed it, i know the staff did too.

aside from the 30+ beers on tap, they have the "cajun burger".

any self respecting meat eater needs to try this. imagine a normal burger, but with breakfast on top. egg, ham, etc. the soft jalepno bun absorbs the yolk and the flavor is wonderful. you may be taking a few years off your life due to cholesterol, but it is worth it.

kind of disappointed. met family at pickle barrel for supper tonight.. the good things --my sandwich (cowboy chicken sandwich) and the pickles were good. the bad things --- 1. the fried pickles were to salty, 2. the onion rings were in a blob, 3. we were given dirty appetizer plates, 4. the waitress took extra plates off our table and put them back on the clean plate stack, 5. the shrimp was to salty and was not cleaned properly and 6. the waitress reached across people when serving (so close to my face that i moved back). as we were leaving the owner/manager said "thanks for coming in" but in the past he came by our table. we've been there several time and had good experiences, but this time was not up to par.

bad menu choice maybe. i've been wanting to try this restaurant, and finally did today. i ordered a chicken sandwich the waitress said was the one most people preferred. it had two soggy onion rings on it and the bread was gummy. the only flavor was the onion rings and the chicken had no taste at all even though it was fried!! just a gummy soggy mess..
my husband ordered the simple hamburger and he said it was ok, but nothing special. everyone deserves a second chance but that's all i'll give this place.

perfect sandwiches. best and most eclectic sandwiches in monroe. fantastic collection of beers and decent desserts. any of the hot dogs are memorable.

awesome burgers. i've eaten here quite a few times and have never been disappointed. i've gotten the zydeco and blue cheese burgers and they are absolutely delicious. if you order a sandwich, i strongly suggest the jalepeno bun. they also have 2 for 1 burgers and draft beer on tuesdays, which is a clear winner. i haven't really been during the bar hours, as i don't know the crowd, but they offer a large beer selection and live music on the weekends.
