phat bites

service bites. i went to phat bites today for the first time with my boyfriend. i got my food pretty quickly, but after about 30 minutes, my boyfriend still had not received his sandwich. being polite, i wasn't able to eat my food either. finally my boyfriend went to go check on his order to be told that they were actually out of the reuben. instead of telling him and asking for an alternate order, they just didn't make him anything (even after paying for a sandwich).

the waiter then promised my boyfriend that he would fix it and get him two sandwiches. who wants two sandwiches? twenty minutes later, he still didn't have a single sandwich. after going up again, a sandwich was made quickly for him and a coupon was written on a piece of paper for free sandwich another time.

the service was awful, and i feel like i definitely deserved my $20 back to compensate for both of our meals.

great food. phat bites deli is oddly tucked away along a busy road and thusly does not get the praise it deserves. the food caters to people who are health food fans and like their food to also be full of flavor. the salads, pesto pasta, sandwiches, hummus and spinach artichoke dip are booming with flavor and healthy. good prices under $10 for most entree's.
this place one of the best in east nashville!

my husband and i tried this place by chance - we were going mary and exiting the ace hardware next door. what a pleasant surprised. the loaded potato salad and pesto pasta was excellent. we were given nibbles of other salads that were also great. our greek chicken wrap with spinach feta hummus was yummy. the place itself is no frills and a bit difficult for a first timer to figure out ordering but it was worth the learning curve.

visiting nashville on an extended layover and found this spot close to the airport with vegetarian options. good food, nice people, no fluff.

me and @kendramaples visit phat bites deli every time we are in nashville! the hummus is great, and the sandwiches never disappoint! the new location was a little hard for us to find being out of town but we eventually got there. overall just a great, unique local restaurant that you should visit, especially if you are visiting from out of town.

never had a single bad thing here. cool little dive bar at night delicious deli during the day. if you haven't been here yet you are missing a true gem!

after many years of eating here i will not go back. it is a very dirty restaurant. seating is akward. menu is hard to read. ordered same meal often and it was different each time depending on who is in the kitchen. i was hoping the new location would improve things but it is worse. very disappointing when there is so much potential.

bad experience. i went to phat bites today for some of their vegs. while waiting to pay, a guy was behind the counter in plain sight cutting loafs of bread in half. two of the loafs fell to the floor and he quickly picked them up and put them on a counter behind him, so i was thinking okay he will disgard in the trash. as i was turning to leave, he picked up the 2 loafs and started cutting them in half. i couldn't refrain and said, you know i just saw you drop that bread in the floor. his reply "they are going in the oven". how is that supposed to make that right? it's one thing if you are in your own home and use the 30 second rule, but in a restaurant, no, this is not acceptable! i also told the girl that checked me out and she said she was sorry and would speak to him. too late now, someone is probably eating that nasty bread! just lost a customer.

nice food, but almost impossible to find!. we went to phat bites for lunch due to their feature on diner. drive ins, and dives. we drove past it three times due to the fact that the place has no sign! none! and it is in a coverted gas station, so it doesnt even look like a restaurant. cool concept, but we almost gave up trying to find it.

once inside, it is a bit confusing. the order process wasnt very organized and as a result, we had some difficulty getting our food. part of the problem is that we caught them at change of shift.

the menu is great with lots of options for all tastes. i went with the big jerk sandwich and was not diasappointed. my wife went with the dirty wedgie salad. also good.

recommended, if you can find it!

i am addicted. love this place and order there every single time i am in town. i keep trying new salads and sandwiches and have never once been disappointed. even when i don't feel like heading out of the hotel or am bone weary from work i will be sure to stop in at least once each trip! favorites are the greek artichoke salad (eat it by the pound) and the muffaleta!

super phat veggie wrap and amazing loaded sweet potatoes. incredible service. great place.

great lunch and well run. my wife and i had lunch there today. plenty of salad/side choices, all looking very fresh. the food was delicious! what really impressed me the most was caitlin, the young manager. she was everywhere! taking orders, directing her staff, bussing tables, everything. the place was packed with customers and i have never been served so quickly. she was quite pleasant and friendly to everyone she came in contact with. she is a rare gem and i hope the owner appreciates caitlin's commitment and expertise.

this place is awesome! the food is fresh and healthy with tons of vegetarian options. the atmosphere is colorful and funky with lots of cool art and furniture. the staff is laid back and super friendly (marcus is awesome!). i feel like i'm going to a buddy's house for munchies, wine, and chill time. if this place was in the heart of east nashville, there would always be a line out the door. my new favorite spot!

good food, large portions. however, the cafe is poorly laid out. the building could use a good cleaning and remodel.

great place, great atmosphere. the morphine wrap (steak, portabello, red pepper, pesto, etc.) is fantastic. they also have an eclectic but good selection of beers.
