pelican pub is one of the oldest (if not the oldest) pubs which serve draught beer in mysore. i have been enjoying their beer and food for more than 25 years now. the beer used is kingfisher. the pub has a quaint old world charm with a rustic decor, cane chairs, tiled roofs, garden, etc. while the beer is the usual excellent kingfisher froth (they don't serve any other liquor), the food is also great. they serve the best tandoori chicken in town. their pork dishes are also delicious, what with the owner being an authentic coorgi. the other favorite among the regulars to this place is the garlic potato. a meal of chicken/egg fried rice with pork pepper fry and garlic potato as sides will make your evening a very fulfilling one! they also serve excellent stuffed parathas (even kheema stuffed ones). this is the only place in mysore where i have been able to order scotch eggs, and they do know how to make one. the owner also always makes it a point to go to each table, greet the guests personally and enquiry with them if everything is going okay with their evening. i've seen very few owners do that.
if you are visiting mysore for a few days and want to have a relaxed evening, you should not miss this place! a must for every visitor.
