brunch heaven. being very recently uprooted from downtown *sniffle*, i was lamenting my new location in the epitome of suburbia (lake mary) and its dearth of pretty much anything other than chains and big box stores, when i decided to turn to urbanspoon for a glimmer of foodie hope. much to my dismay, clicking on lake mary got me a sad 97 restaurants and when i clicked on brunch/breakfast options the map had one very very sad little dot on it. one.
so, while i was horrified at this decided lack of selection, i was pleased to see that this location actually had received some decent reviews. my mood improved, especially when i realized that it was only about 5 mins away, nestled in a shopping plaza next to panera.
even though it was a sunday afternoon and the place was pretty busy we were seated within 10 mins or so, and the gratis coffee in the waiting alcove helped too.
i ordered the vegetable croissant benedict with the potatoes, which was comprised of a rather large croissant split in half and filled with asparagus, fresh tomato, 2 eggs, onions and the most delicious hollandaise sauce i think ive ever had. the potatoes were also phenomenal, they were thick slices that were perfectly soft inside and so golden and crispy and perfect on the outside. a little salt and pepper and everything was perfect. the 'burbs are looking slightly less bleak. slightly.
