nice place. good lunch spot although some of the dishes seem pre made with only a homemade sauce poured on top. nice typical lunch food at a decent price though.

finally made it. tried numerous times and they were not open. after reading the reviews i may have had high expectations. roast beef and seafood muffalata. both seemed to be missing something. good but missing that extra umph. probably will try again and try something italian. lady taking our order wasn't friendly. but we will give it another shot someday.

very good food (shared half a roast beef and "blackened" shrimp poboy). reminds me of our visits to grandma's: slow, very slow, deliberate service, both while taking the order and delivery if the food. i think i found myself saying, "thanks grandma," when my food arrived. nice, clean place. btw, the roast beef was the better half.

impeccable service :). so first off i called at 9:30 am to place my order. didn't look at the menu because i knew what i wanted, a hot sausage and a roast beef. they don't open until 11nah. would you believe because i told him i was a new customer they'd go ahead and make them for me. and to top the wonderful service, both sandwiches were awesome! loved it :)

one of the two p's of po-boy excellence. there are two po-boy joints that are far better than all the others. parkway and parran's. if you had to recommend one to a visitor recommend parkway because of the atmosphere. but if your friend is blind, take him to parran's. located in a strip mall on vets, parran's doesn't look like much on the outside, but inside you'll find the best roast beef po-boys on earth. there's little buzz surrounding parran's and you won't find it on those cable tv food challenge shows. good. save it for the locals because we know how to eat and we'll keep filling up at parran's.

this is what i think of parran's. i've always said, if you want real new orleans food, go to metairie
excellent po-boys from a legacy that doesn't just live off it's name. hell, even john goodman's fat ass goes here and if anyone knows a good po-boy, it john goodman.

so many better. went here on a no-meat friday in march. i don't eat fish, so i had the eggplant parmesean po boy. ugh.. so wrong. my husband had the seafood muffaletta, which was "ehh ok"

in a city where there are so many good po boy places, this doesn't really hit the top ten for me by far.

this was during my first trip back to new orleans after a ten year absence (i lived here in the 90s) and was my husband's first trip ever.. of all the places i took him to, this was the dude of them all.. so that's not too bad. =)

when i get him to come along with me again, we'll skip it.
