my favorite restaurant in portland!. it's hard to review a place i love as much as i love pambiche. i'm going to list a bunch of stuff that comes to mind because i can form them into coherent enough sentences while i imagine the food in my mouth:

sensational
zingy
savory
comfort
satiating

yeah...that'll do for now.

start with an empanada. for entree, something with prawns, the ox-tail, or the ropa vieja are all fantastic. i hear the tres leches is great for dessert, but i've never had the will power not to stuff myself with my dinner so i haven't made it to a third course yet in 10 tries.

great food loved both breakfast and lunch menu! drinks are incredible and the atmosphere fits the experience well. will go back and try it all!

style & atmosphere. the fried ripe plantains are to die for, as long as they are not overcooked. first time they were crunchy and carmel-like. they really melt in the mouth. the desserts are world class but with prices to match. took the advice of a server on the shredded beef and moros y cristianos, and lost that bet. i think i like the desserts the best.

breakfast at pambiche. the breakfast pastries are not to be missed. great variety and very tasty. i had the pisto manchego and it was fantastic. service was excellent.

friendly service, but slow. good plantains, red beans, and empanadas. meat was a little sparse in the stew and the lemonaide was unique.

i grew up in fl and love cuban food. we had pork and chicken w/ white and yellow rice both very good. we split the coconut cake...it was moist and terrific. and finally we ordered two cuban sandwiches to go...for lunch the next day...well i don't miss fl anymore. viva la pambiche!

love the food, but the service is sometimes lacking. i had a terrible experience at pambiche and didn't return for a year. but i started craving those maduros and avocado salad again. the service can be hit or miss, but the food is always good.

bad service, mediocre food. i went to pambiche last night for the first time for a friend's birthday. the waitress was rude and the food was remarkably unmemorable. honestly, you're better off cooking at home with zataran's cuban rice and beans. they make a good cocktail, the palm beach cooler, but between the terrible service and bland, uninventive food, i see no reason to go back.

cuba!. was there for a birthday dinner with friends. decided to make a meal of the empanadas. we ordered the top half of the aperitivos for the 3 of us.

also had the 'fried cow'. (awesome!)

even though we had to wait outside for almost an hour (at least it seemed like it), huddling together by an outdoor heater, it was totally worth it. once we sat down, i immediately ordered a cuban hot chocolate. it was a little bit spicy and really warmed

cuban delight. can flavorful cuban comfort food found in portland oregon? yes, it can at pambiche along with friendly helpful service and reasonable prices. however, the place is small so getting a table could be a problem and you may end up sitting with strangers. parking is limited as well, but should not be a real problem.
