palo alto sol restaurant

this is my go-to place if i am in the mood for yummy authentic mexican cuisine. the chips (which are more often than not fresh, but sometimes you can tell you're getting an old batch) are extremely crunchy and endless. the dipping salsas also have a variety of flavors and spices that make it easy for you to find a favorite. my hunch is that their salsas are homemade because every time i go they taste a little different.

i have gotten both their mole burritos and their chicken mole entree. i'm a huge fan of mole and really like the taste that palo alto sol offers. it tastes a bit more like cocoa but is still a very warm and flavorful topping.

the atmosphere is also really nice. with dim lighting and a bar to compliment, it fits any occasion from lunch with friends to dinner with co-workers.
the servers were also pretty nice and accommodating--nothing extraordinary but nothing to get upset about.

food heaven !!! this place, untill i visit mexico may be, will be the best enchilada i must have ever eaten. love everything about it, the yummy cocktails, the chip and dips, especially the chilli dip, the lovely staff to the perfectly cooked dishes. i wish i could rate it above 5 !! i wish mexican like would come to india soon..

you would find a whole lot of mexican restaurants in town however this is on the top of my list. the dips that they serve along with the chips are roasted red chilli, green tomato salsa and regular salsa. the green tomato salsa is to die for ! its just the right amount of heat and tangy. we ordered the burittos, enchilladas and chile relleno. everyone just relished it. a must go place if you are in and around palo alto.

one of our favorite places to eat out.  the sol family is terrific and their food is outstanding.  we have had just about everything on the menu and it is all excellent.  the margaritas are the best!

the pollo negro, sopa azteca is great for a cool evening and the neuvas sauce is out of this world.

this is a must try, we highly recommend this restaurant.

service is slow. don't come here for a quick lunch.

one of the very best on the peninsula. palo alto sol on california ave in palo alto is a long time favorite of mine. the food is absolutely outstanding in every respect. i recommend you try any of the combination dishes with enchiladas or chile rellenos. this restaurant is unique in the high quality of its food, the originality and great taste of its special dishes, and the quality of its service. this restaurant serves some of the best mexican food on the peninsula. if you a looking for an outstanding lunch or dinner, check out palo alto sol.
david
