went here for lunch a month ago on a saturday afternoon
all i ordered was the palais burger
with so many burger places around these days this burger puts a lot of them to shame
couldn't fault it in any way,bun soft an fresh,salad was fresh,and the patty was just made that morning,delicious in every aspect
definitely recommend the palais,and it looks cool after the renovation ,well done

nice staff but slightly overpriced meals that are pretty standard. menu needs some excitement. i would recommend them to do specials that are actually worth it as the ones in the back of the messenger don't seem like much of a saving to me. great location! oh and i also think that charging for bread rolls in very stingy for a place like this.
would eat here again though

we sat on the upstairs deck and sipped some coffee after a walk from largs bay. it was a much needed rest and a lovely coffee. the staff were friendly and the service was prompt. it was so nice and relaxing to sit looking at the beach. fantastic views.

weird crowd. way too loud. not baby friendly but there's kids running amok everywhere. did i mention way too loud? nice food, but overpriced, but that seems to be the norm for seaside venues.

the disabled toilet is dangerous as it has a step up at the entrance which is not clearly signposted. and it doesn't allow wheelchair access. i fell over and injured my shoulder back and knee. so be very careful. i won't be back as meal and service very average.

loving the james squire’s ginger beer on tap here. great place for a drink in the sun with plenty of people.

the beach bar is where it's at! i love the pimms jug on a sunday afternoon, sitting in the sun at a fresh, beachside venue and listening to live music is pretty sweet. check out the daily specials as there are a fair few of them.

dropped in for lunch with relatives from the country.  service was friendly, informal and fun.  decor was light and airy, albeit, a bit noisy.  i ordered the special burger - pork something with bacon ... see the photo.  waitress came to apologise as they had insufficient pork for a relative to have one too, and then a chosen alternate burger at a higher price we were not charged the difference - nice touch.  food came in good time and as to taste, the burger was really tasty.  i can still recall it.  chips with it ok but not outstanding.  for me the place as good - we were downstairs - but it lacked something - perhaps we were a bit removed from the actual beach and sea?  anyway, a good time nonetheless

giving it a 2.5 for location, for such a beautiful establishment, it’s a shame that the food & service don’t match. we were greeted by a woman who was short with us and seemed like she didn’t want to be there, she didn’t make eye contact and acted like we were an inconvenience. salad bar is good quality and the views are some of the best in the area. food came out - i was excited as you can see it looks well prepared, the presentation is great but none of that matters if the dish is a flop. the lamb was literally inedible - it was chewy and overcooked and flavourless. i was so disappointed by the lack of respect for the lamb, i don’t mind paying $30 for food but not when it’s consistency is like rubber. i’m not going to come back here again unless it’s for a birthday or something i have to attend because i’ve been let down too many times by the quality of food. a good chef and wait staff go along way.

great pizza in friday night $12. happy hour drinks are also worth the effort of coming down here. the beach bar is the places to be. service is quick and staff are friendly.

very nice place for a meal down at the beach! they have in the past year renovated the inside area which looks beautiful! the food is very good and i have never had a problem with the service, always quick and friendly! i'm looking forward to many summer evenings grabbing a bite to eat at the palais and watching the sunset!

not much can be said about the food. very ordinary pub grub. salad bar and vegetable bar should have turned us away straight up.
staff all very friendly and professional.
the beer was cold and all considered not a bad selection of wines.

came for lunchies yesterday and our eyes were much bigger than our bellies that's for sure!
had the $1 & $2 oyster special so we made the most of that and then shared jalapeno poppers -they were spicy little goodies and the natural oysters in particular dam good!! then finished off by sharing the crispy chicken burger and vege burger - both were deelish but had 2take a doggy bag home. vege burger- crumbed eggplant, halumi, giant mushroom and the usual salad trimmings, but the relish made a definate mark on the flavour. chicken burger was also awesomely spiced as tho it was a deep fried southern style chicken- & very tasty indeed.
only thing, service was pretty slow considering how quiet they were and unfortunately the staff weren't too welcoming. was a nice area to dine in but don't think i'll be back in a real hurry 😊

good food for a pub, it is a pub so don't expect fine dining. meals come out fairly fast. great location right on the water. meals are reasonably priced.

if you are in for a fun night of dancing go there but for food you might want to go somewhere else! low quality pub meals... still ok if you stick to some platters!
