the place is quite over hyped. the famous paaya had decent taste but not as good as advertised.

the keema naan were a major disappointment. there was no taste in the keema except sabut dhaniya. there were too many spices and sesame seeds splattered on top of it which was not adding to taste or asthetics.

it's a byob place with only a few tables to sit.

this is a small joint with limited menu and humble setting.

absolutely loved the fact that their menu was not all over the place and they focused on selected items which was yet quite a bit.

we ordered a mutton tikka gravy, boneless chicken gravy and lacha naan, which came with radish and onion along with chutney.

the naan was great, so were the gravies ; this place offers everything gravy, not dry.

highly overrated and unhygienic place. the recommendations on zomato for this place are misleading. also, the place doesn’t have any other way to pay other than cash even in covid situation.

when you think about the old institutions like this one, shouldn't be thinking about hygiene standards. but looking at the current scenario created by covid that element should have some more prefence.
but the food! that's delicious and that's what matters most. i ordered saag chicken, the chef said it would take some extra time so i waited with patience, and the wait was worthy.
chicken cooked to perfection and the gravy was so authentic, you have the actual taste of palak which was not over powered by spices. just superb.

after surfing a lot on internet, came to know about this typical dhaba in amritsar. after reading lot of reviews, decided to visit this place. it’s a typical dhaba, located near hall gate and 1 km from golden temple.
about the food, i just ordered the best dish they have and they served me mutton tikka full plate with plain naan. served very hot direct from pan and even you can see in pic. mutton was so soft and spicy too, usually it’s rare but they passed it with perfection. it was soft and easily melt in mouth. naan was soft too and not that crispy.
salad offered with mint pudina chutney, chutney was spicy.
i would love to try more disher from this place next time. but yes i am in love with this dish.

ambience: 3 🌟
location: 3 🌟
taste : 4.5 🌟
price : 3 🌟 ( little costly)
(rs. 300/- for mutton tikka and rs. 30 for butter naan)

i just wanna know who overhyped this place so much ? i basically belong to amritsar only and i was on a food spree to explore all the hidden gems of the old city. i have heard about this place from many many people but it is honesty not worth visiting anymore.

first, it's too small. you can barely sit comfortably. you've to share table at times. the staff is a little rude. no in hand menu. they have just put up a very old and unclear board on the wall. the service is slow. and it's definitely not for families to enjoy a meal.

we were two people and ordered - butter roti, butter chicken (half) and boneless chicken plate. boneless chicken masala was still a good decision but going for butter chicken was our worst decision. it wasn't butter in chicken but chicken in butter. taste was really a bad one and i was just to puke. we have to leave the meal. disappointed. not recommended.

pal dhaba has been my childhood favourite. lachedar naan is simply amazing. chicken curry and mutton tikka are delicious. must try for some desi food.

located within the gated amritsar this dhaba is serving since a long long time now. i personally like their naan with sesame seeds ( til wale naan) the most. served with butter chicken or chicken masala it will send you right into food coma. apart from this combination, the rich 'khadoda soup' really stands out for me from the rest of the menu.

a well known place in the old city near the hathi gate. this place is known for its paya shorba. its a very rustic place with limited seating but do not expect great hygiene and cleanliness here. you can try the paya for sure and the chicken masala.

we had a taste of pal dhaba when we visted the golden temple....the paya and magaz (brain curry) were both decent....the spices were a bit too much for us....there are hygiene issues as well...flavours were nice though

i was suggested to try the mutton paya at pal da dhaba.
we went there and were taken aback a little, as the food joint was a basic, modest looking dhaba.
we were a little sceptical about the quality of food and were silently praying that we don't fall sick the next day.
much to my surprise, nothing happened to any of us and the paya was amazing!
we also ordered chicken masala with some tandoori roti and salad.
it was a good meal before we headed to have gian di lassi.
amritsar never fails to surprise us with it's delicious food and hospitality.

i visited the place for the paya soup and came out fully satisfied. unlike the paya that i have tasted till date paya @ pal da dhaba has a gravy consistency and is a meal in itself. i also tasted the brain masala . go for mutton nan also . overall a changa place
