outta the way cafe

excellent chicken wings, salads, fish and chicken tacos. way above average. a little loud but dinner was well worth it. we'll be back for sure.

what a great place. we called about 10mins before we arrived with roughly 45 people about 1/2 were kids under 12 and they did great. food was hot & correct, kids were happy & parents too. we will definitely be back.

good food. friendly and family service. burger was delicious & triple decker sandwich was great for the price! definitely recommend and will come back!

chicken tempura salad. my family and i have been regulars @ outta the way for quite some time, the people are so down to earth and hospitable. right when you walk in chances are you'll see a friendly face. this salad is hand dipped golden goodness we call tempura chicken on a bed of fresh crisp greens. i highly recommend outta's honey mustard dressing, it is superb as are the bread sticks (always ask for extra its on the house !)

good food, relaxed atmosphere. i found out about the outta the way cafe as the restaurant/pub in rockville that shows steelers games, but my wife and i frequent it because it has great food and a relaxed atmosphere. our favorites are the wings and ribs. the decorations are funky chic--stained glass art, colored bubble glass, and cool b&w photos of the southwest. the staff is friendly, service is good, and prices are reasonable. if you're not a steelers' fan though, pick a time other than during the pittsburgh football games. if you are a steelers fan, gametime is a blast.

great place for everyone... mom, dad, kids, sports fans, military, locals and the rest. who doesn't like a quaint little sports bar that has it all? great selection of food and beer paired with great service, what's not to like? i highly recommend getting the mardi gras salad, the wings, pierogies, any burger, or the speciality - the exploding meatloaf cassarole! you simply cannot go wrong with these items. they "go green" and recycle as much as possible and they use non-trans fat oils (and have been for almost 2 decades now.) word to the wise, this place is packed on any steelers game day as this is a steelers bar. give this place a try, you won't regret it.

delightful food. i stumbled upon this "dive" looking for some local food while attending a conference in gaithersburg (i'm from ohio). the otwc was a refreshing alternative to the bland chains that i find parked next to every hotel. i was delighted by the wasabi (mixed with ginger) wings and overwhelmed by the triple shrimp platter. the homemade pirogies that came as a side dish were also delicious. the night before i had shrimp at joe's crabshack next to my hotel and walked away hungry...that wasn't possible at the otwc. i applaud the cafe for supporting the troops (didn't even realize they were so patriotic until i looked them up later on the web) and would highly recommend this restaurant. i'm planning to return there tonight to sample more of their menu before i make the trip home.

great food,especially the pastas. make sure your really hungry the food portions are huge.
