out of the blue

merguez burger was amazing. i got the merguez lamb burger due to the other reviews on here and i was really happy with it! really yummy. a great sort of tabouli on it and beautiful sauce. my boyfriend got fish and chips and his fish was really overcooked so that was a shame. we'll most likely come back and both get the merguez burger. the chilli mayo is yummy too.

it's just something about quality fish pieces, good batter, great sauce, and a lot of salad crammed into the burger, plus even the "specials" with extra ingredients will be under $10. there are only a few chairs inside so plan on takeaway and there was a short wait even at 2pm.

shut up and order a scotch fillet steak burger and chips. oh my goodness. i'm super cereal. so happy right now.

an untoasted bun with cold shredded cheese was like eating yesterdays burger. to top it off..bottom bun split in half.. so much hype for what?..

if you are after a very very fat burger, with oily chips, that’s the place. it is definitely good value for the quantity. however, quality was not good. so fat and oily! plus it took us 30min to get 2 burgers and a chips side take away... i found it way overrated !

french style customer service- so their way or the high way. rude disrespectful and the wait 35 minutes when i was next all due to the young man's attitude was rude serving. it is his parents business and he just walked away and refused to serve me or answer my question. i told me that if he called my name and i didn't come at get my food he would throw it into the bin. so i asked for a refund and he walked away. i left with my disabled mother in tears and my father very hungry and disappointed. 0/5

had the worst experience here, took my 90 year old father out because he wanted a fish burger. they said 15 minutes wait. after 25 mins i asked the young guy with long hair where it was and was told it had been sitting waiting for me. i was standing inside the front door less than 2 metres away the whole time. when i wanted to discuss it he just walked off. it was cold and dried out and revolting. i took it back for a refund which i have never done anywhere before. the guy was rude and said it was my fault. i said i have perfect hearing, know my own name and was right in front of them. he said he saw me standing there said again that it was my fault.

the burger was total slop. that's what you get when you go here. they have clearly become arrogant that people will keep on paying for junk. the guy was rude. i got a refund but again he told me it was my fault that he served me cold inedible garbage.

go to bondi tony for burgers. food better at coogee pavilion. anywhere but here.

was hunting for a fish and chip place since i frequent clovelly to swim alot and stumbled upon this local favourite. had the fish and chips the first time and then the curry chicken burger the second. both were excellent taste as well as price wise. will be my go to eatery in clovelly from now on 👌

ordered:
1. chicken burger - this is the best chicken burger i have tasted in my whole life, the bread buns are so soft and fresh, the ingredients are super fresh, the crumbed fried chicken is tasty, it does not feel heavy with lots of sauces
2. grilled fish and chips - fish tasted fresh and good, chips are not too oily and not over fried

you can see how they make the burgers while you wait for the food - they are very efficient and clean.

tips: as the shop only has 3 tables, it’s best to buy take away and eat it in the car while watching the sunset at clovelly beach.

will i go back: yes, currently i go there once a month

underwhelming considering the reputation. the fish was the best part at a 4. unfortunately the potato scallops were too greasy and dim sims lacked sufficient meat. pulling the initial 4 down 👇 to a 3

went on easter saturday so was quite packed, but service was great. had takeaway and took it down to clovelly beach for a picnic. the chicken burger was old school with beetroot, carrot, schnitzel on a seeded bun, loved it! the chips and calamari were great! only let down was the baby octopus - we found the marinate for the octopus was too fishy and did not bring out the flavour of baby octopus. otherwise was a hit :)

such an amazing place' you cannot go to coogee beach without a big box of fish and chips from out of the blue! such a big box of chips, it is crispy, tasty. most important is the staff is very friendly. great atmosphere. you can only take away for their food. really worth the money! i will try the burger next time.

best fish i have tasted in sydney, its really fresh. we did not face any issue with the wait time. service was good and the food is amazing. this is a cash only joint.

visited at ~2pm on a saturday and it was so busy they had customers sitting on the pavement outside. miraculously though, our group of three were able to score one of the three tables and our wait was probably less than 15 mins.

i had the fish burger and chips. bun was quite nice and i was able to taste the sesame seeds. fish was very small for the bun size - ate almost half the bun before reaching the fish.

i’m impressed that they make their own sauces however the tartare sauce didn’t have enough pickle and so tasted mostly like a herbed aioli. disappointed they don’t have eftpos but i understand this is still common amongst takeaway stores.
