the best pizza since italy. osteria marco deserves the hype. having spent six months in perugia, italy, i became accustomed to a certain standard of food, especially pizza. since coming home, i've put my snobbery on the back burner because i assumed, let's face it, they do it better.

which is why i nearly choked on my first bite at marco. there ara worse ways to go, of course, but i'm glad i got the chance to finish the meal. italy rushed back to me through my tongue. this pizza is for real. i'll spare you the played-out description of perfect crust mixing with expertly seasoned sauce and meats of the highest quality to create culinary ecstasy and let you figure it out for yourself.

the cheese was all homemade and can i just say that truffle oil and pizza were made for each other.

big disappointment. i have never sent a meal back at a restaurant, despite having some bad meals over the years. but at osteria marco my wife and i actually sent back two meals because they were so horrible that we couldn't even choke them down. we finally got something we liked, but i was amazed by how awful the first couple tries were. sorry, but there's no way i'd risk going back here again.

this is truly one of my favorite restaurants in denver. where do i begin? the house cured meats and homemade mozzarella make for incredible appetizers. and the mussels and sausage in a spicy tomato sauce are fantastic but you have to ask for additional bread because you won't want to waste the sauce. the beet salad, the thin pizzas, the streak, the scallops...all fantastic! and for me, my absolute favorite is the pig roast--the restaurant roasts an entire pig once a week on sundays and the chef prepares a different dish with it, using whatever veggies are in season. add to this, a great wine list and unfailingly wonderful service...it's why i keep coming back.

my favorite place to eat in downtown.. i live in lodo, so osteria marco is my "go to." i bring visiting family and friends here all the time. incredible food, great wine list, the best "real" cocktails in town, and incredibly impeccable service (even on the busiest nights, the waitstaff is always right there when you need them, and they are never overbearing.) their grilled bread is delicious. before or after a movie, our staples are the burrata, a couple side caesars and a pizza! even with 2 glasses of wine, the bill is still under $50. i would eat here every night if i could.

this place is great! they keep things simple and the tastes are delightful. one of my favorites is the prociutto pizza, and the bread pudding is absolutely incredible! the atmosphere is easy going and nice. it can be romantic or we have even taken our young child.

i ate one of the best pizzas i've eaten in 2010: the wild mushroom and robiola pizza ($11). the thin crusted pizza was heavy with mushrooms and robiola cheese and dabbed with truffle oil.

great prices, food, & atmosphere. great prices and food. surprised how reasonable the prices are and how much food you get. my date and i got two pizzas (the waitress said 1 pizza feeds 1 person, but it really feeds 2). if you're on a budget, you could take a date there, get on pizza and get out of there for $15. great atmosphere for a date too.

what a blast. great place. salumeria rocks. the speck is the best i have had in denver. nice cheeseboard. mussel in fennel broth had me asking for another four plates of bread to get at the broth. oh msn that was good. cool vibe. service was great. responsive. unobtrusive. on point. wine list is pretty deep and not too over the top price-wise. i dig this place and cannot wait to go back.

what happened??!!. my wife and i loved this place, until friday. the menu has changed, and not for the better... the service was not nearly what it has been in the past, and they stopped carrying the wine we love that we've only been able to find there. not only that, but the waiter brought out a bottle which was not the same year, and was way too young. should be another year at least before that bottle should be opened...

everyone's food came out but only one dish was served correctly. the pizza!

i only write good reviews, but this was such a let down i had to let people know. if you went and loved it, be prepared.

we had planned a special night out with my in-laws and had talked this place up, only to be let down... hard.

did they change owners? change management?

will be a while before i think about going back.

always on point. i reviewed this osteria marco after our first experience for lunch, which was fantastic, so i wanted to write one for our dinner experiences. we've been here many times and have taken family and friends. the staff are always great. never snooty, rude, or short, and they are always happy to answer (in detail) what the specials are, what's changed on the meat and cheese platters (always start with this), and their favorite wine.
for those that don't know this place and what it's about, they make their own products. everything from tonic water to fresh ricotta cheese wrapped in their fresh mozzarela.
highly recommend this place to anyone living or visiting the area.

...polo!. having just moved to the area, we were out doing the local touristy stuff that you're supposed to do, and stumbled here for lunch. the food was perfect and so were the staff. our server was knowledgeable, prompt (our glasses never emptied and i never wondered where she was or where our food was), and her recommendations were spot on.

we had the meat and cheese as a starter. traditional italian meats and cheeses perfectly sliced and well flavored. great way to start. i had the lamb sandwich which i absolutely loved. the tapenade went incredibly well with the lamb, and everything just about melted in my mouth... my wife had a beef tenderloin salad, which she said was also delicious.

if lunch was this good, we can't wait to get back for dinner!
