fantastic place to go and enjoy a brunch outside with friends. the outdoor seating is shaded and relatively quiet considering it’s next to a busy street. our food came out quickly, as did our coffee. if you can’t find street parking they will also validate about 90mins which is great! highly recommend.

tasteless food...

impressive setup, top notch equipment, descent presentation; there is a lot of money poured into this place. however, even with their limited menu, there is not much of a taste if any.

also, there is no consistency, for example, two well-done orders will come not so well and too well, at the same time, both sharing the same tastelessness.

people appear very gordon ramsey-ish, which by the way i'm a fan of, however, at olive and thyme they seem to lost focus perhaps due to trying too hard on the looks/how it looks rather than how it tastes.

the place has a potential if they do a major re-evaluation on recipes/cooking, etc.

just a magnificent breakfast.  the country french décor is charming; the space is open and inviting; the atmosphere is calm and quiet; the staff are pleasant and friendly.   we had healthy breakfasts with fruit, granola, nuts, yogurt, coffee and we both walked out feeling like it was one of the most delicious breakfasts we'd ever had.  the fruit was incredibly fresh and tasty.  the yogurt had a creamy smoothness unlike any we'd had before.  the granola was nutty and fresh and crunchy.  the coffee was fantastic.  we liked it so much we went back on sunday, only to find they weren't open.  it's a little pricey, but the quality is there and it's worth it!

marvelous. we just moved our company from culver city to sun valley and we happen to find you. what a jewel first of all amazing looking place a marriage between joan's on third and le pain quotidien but with better food and much much better customer service.
melina and your staff are so on top of it.
your food is delicious and in our two visit's everything went smooth even though you just opened this location.
great wine selection and service was great.
compliment where one is due and it's the attention and love everyone in the place puts in their work that shows.

there is a quaint cafe that sits on the border of toluca lake and burbank. it serves fantastic coffee and brunch. it sells cheeses, cured meats, truffle salts, oils, and various other delicacies that every foodie fancies. its name? olive & thyme.

joan's burbank. have you ever been to joan's on third? i happen to love the place, and olive & thyme is, in my opinion, the joan's of burbank. i met a friend there for a quick lunch, though i've had (and heartily approved of) take-out work lunches from there before. this time around, i ordered the iced tea of the day (blood orange) and a trio of salads from the case: farro with beets, kale, and curry chicken salad. everything was delicious - flavorful and yet fresh, with a side of pita (which i hardly touched because the salad trio is a sizable meal). if i lived anywehre near burbank, i would totally hit this place up on a regular basis (i happen to know the jambon sandwich is pretty delicious). as it stands, i will just have to eat at the pretty, light-filled cafe style place when i'm in the area.

there's a vortex in burbank around warner bros., disney and nbc, roughly bordered by olive, alameda and pass, where many ambitious food venues that dared venture seem to vanish quickly without a trace. exhibit a: french 75, which became savannah before disappearing forever. exhibit b: three generations of white linen, wine listed italian restaurants that cycled through so quickly that no one even remembers any of their names, on the corner of riverside and kenwood. exhibit c:...actually, maybe that was about it, at least in the last few years. gindi thai, arnie morton's and studio cafe magazzino are pretty much the only chic/more upscale/cute spots offering creative/finer/fresher fare, that have stood the test of time within walking distance of the three studios in this pneumatic triangle. don cuco's is great for the occasional lunch or happy hour, but a decidedly casual dining space with a delicious but fairly standard menu, and the thighs and waistlines of image-conscious studio folk
