not worth it. we went in mid day before the rush and the staff were to busy to explain the menu options or special.
my steak was gristly and lacked flavor. the side vegtibles were frozen and still cold. i asked for no croutons on my salad as i am glutten intolerant and when my salad came the waitress picked the obvious ones off at the table and said, "here you go!"

my spouce had fried fish that came out greesy and fried in dirty oil. is seafood chowder was not even close to home made unless opening a package is home made.
the waitress never offered us desert or even drink refils.

this place has gone down hill which is a shame.

i will not go again. suppose to have had good steaks, this is thursday and they advertise steak night, arrived at 7:00 pm. after being seated and ready to order my ribeye i was told there were no ribeye steaks left, no baked potatoes left and one if the three soups was not available.o grew up in a farm with great beef, i don't want a sirloin. so because i was on a date i ordered a hamburger, now it's 45 minutes later. i ordered the hamburger with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and onion. food came with no onion and no mustard on the table. i wait and finally get the waitresses attention and get the onion and mustard. now it's after 8:00 pm, was not asked once how my meal was, will not recommend or return.

great fish & chips. the fish and chips and the fried cod dinner are both great tasting and good values. the soups are homemade and good. get there early on the weekend.

solid place to eat!. this place always delivers a solid experience. the broasted chicken is worth the wait.

hard to beat!. great food plus great service. we have brought many friends to the old log cabin and everyone is always impressed.

every time i've been to old log cabin the food has been terrible. prepackaged, processed, flavorless. the staff is friendly, but it's definitely not worth the long wait to get a table only to be served sub-par food.

favorite of forest lake area. this is quickly becoming our favorite place to go.
great value. great food. friendly wait staff. haven't quite figured out the wait staff as it seems everybody is part time, but no matter who waits on us they are friendly and efficient.

a little out of the way if you are not from the forest lake area, but would encourage a road trip sometime to check them out.

there are two dining areas in the old log cabin, the main dining room with a variety of booths and tables (not pictured) and then the bar area which has a handful of high tables with additional seating at the bar. like it's name suggests, the old log cabin has a rustic feel and the building itself is made from several large logs. nearly every square inch of the bar area is covered with business cards of every variety!

love this place.... great food and you got a lot for your money! if you love fish the check toad place out on wednesdays! they have daily dinner specials all week some check em out!

food vs service. we have been here 3 times and the food has always been excellent. we both like the fact that the food never seems over seasoned/salty. the only complaint is we had a very rude/apathetic waitress once and if we get her again when we go back we won't have her wait on us. the bread pudding is awesome and i am rarely a desert eater but i sure do love this one!!!
