initially my desire to go tooldenglish pub had to do with an article in (i think) maison francaise magazine. the interior has some really interesting things going on that i wanted to see for myself…chandeliers made of beer bottles etc. they have a great selection of beer that is reasonably priced for the area. i sat outside on the balcony, and though it was loud, i could still carry on a conversation. i had a burger and fries which were good, and a becks…i don't remember the nuances, just that i would definitely order it again. the waiter was a nice guy….super attentive. its a fun place….not boring…people actually laughing and talking, instead of staring at their phones. later on, cognac was ordered, and stogies were lit. i guess most people would think it was kind of a weird space for that, but i don't like pretentious places, so it worked for me. no one complained about the smoke which was cool….so used to people throwing fits over cigar smoke..don't know why...i like the way it smells.
