freezing cold and extremely rude.. i love this coffee shop because it has good coffee, a good atmosphere, and a good amount of space to do work. i hate, however, the rude, superior attitude of literally every employee. i've been coming here for over two years (because i can't find anything better in the vicinity) and i am regularly amazed by the way i am spoken to. i have been told that i need to learn how to drink my coffee black. so patronizing! and this attitude is a constant. further, their lattes, which is what i like to drink on the regular, are lukewarm when they first arrive and then get super cold super quickly because they put the lattes in glass cups. please learn something about heat conduction. i understand you desire to be unique and cute, but there is a reason that people use ceramic cups for hot drinks - and it's not because they are ignorant, which is how octane treats their patrons. i have asked them to put my latte's in ceramic mugs and been treated as if i am a burden and an idiot. these people are the worst stereotype of self-righteous, pretentious, i-work-in-a-coffee-shop hipsters.
ok, and lastly, and the worst - it is absolutely freezing there. i am shaking with cold whenever i'm in there, winter or summer. i need to wear a coat when i'm there. i have goosebumps. and it's not like i carry a sweater and coat and winter shoes when it's 95 degrees out. i'm not saying it needs to be warm, and i understand that it's hotter in the back, but this is ridiculous. but seriously, it's cannot be that hot back there, i've worked in restaurants and coffee shops and it's not that much of a difference between the front and back. but if they need it cooler back there, why make the customers suffer when you could easily turn down the air conditioning and bring a fan for the back. and the rudeness i receive when i have asked for them to either turn off the fans or turn down the blasting air conditioning is outrageous! it's really a shame, because it's a great space.
