tried to go in to buy a beer and was told i would have to take my hat off. i thought the bartender was joking and laughed and she was the most rude. not sure if it's still the same owner as this was years ago. i will never forget this as one of the worst experiences in a bar/wannabe restaurant i have ever had. there were like 2 people dining there. i left immediately. my son was just born at newport hospital and i wanted to go and grab a drink to celebrate. this experience is forever burned in my memory. wouldn't serve me a beer with a hat on. i've never been happier walking out of a bar. surprised to see they are still open with that policy. delusions of grandeur for sure.

this is the best beer bar in southern new england. not only does it showcase world class beer in 20 taps, 1 cask, & 100 plus bottles, it's also a 5-star neighborhood bistro with a menu which changes daily. if i'm going a drink a beer on tap that is only found in europe, i don't want to eat a burger or nachos. i want a great meal to go along with it. norey's has the best chef on broadway and everything is made in-house including the house smoked chicken wings. the housemade pasta is fantastic. it rivals every italian restaurant in newport. bolognese, goat cheese tortellini with housemade sausage, lobster scampi, chicken pesto, bourbon bacon pappardelle, & more.
 the entire staff able to help you choose a beer based on your past experience or lead you to experiencing something new. anyone can buy beer in a liquor store or a brewery. drinking quality beer in a restaurant is an experience. 
norey's offers free live music wed. americana, blues, bluegrass & thurs. world class jazz. there are also world class tap takeovers- a brewery or a style including ciders, sours, holiday beers from around the world. takeover range from 8 taps to the full 20 taps and stay up until they are gone- usually about 2 weeks.

great craft beer selection, respectable wine selection and food was outstanding. service was prompt and friendly. found this place on urban spoon and we are thankful. we have two small children and though they don't have a kids menu they were very accommodating.

no. great beer selection but terrible service. came on a thursday night for beers and food and left promptly after one round. bartender was the worst. completely inattentive and clueless about the beers. we had to yell over to him to let us pay for the round. we are easy going but this was just bad in every way. -sigh-

my husband and i were looking for a seafood restaurant on our anniversary but we chose norey because of the price range. when we got there and looked at the menu we discovered that the only seafood they had was clams and oysters on the half shell. we ended up ordering mac and cheese with ground turkey (because we saw someone else eating it at the next table) the lemon chicken and lettuce wraps. the mac and cheese was warm and cheesy and delicious!!!! the lemon chicken was tender with the perfect spices and the chicken mixture forbthrblettuce wraps was so flavorful you forgot that it was supposed to be light and healthy! when we noticed the chef walking around the restaurant my husband complimented the food. he surprised us and sent us a free pumpkin cheesecake that was also delicious! so my husband surprised him and left him a note that he made our 5 year anniversary even more special!

norey's is the gold standard for service. best beer in newport. great bartenders and servers and my favorite jt who really know the beer, wine, and food. they go the extra mile to make sure you have a perfect meal. chef tyler cullen is running one of the best restaurant in town. check out the desserts made by norey herself- especially the carrot cake and coconut cake.

strong!. stone imperial russian stout on tap? jambalaya quesedilla? you gotta be whackin' me! newport's about as far away physically and culturally as one can get from san deigo and new orleans... yet norey's brings it all together seamlessly with its own in-house vibe. great plumbers-and-lawyers crowd- waitess made these transients feel like locals. unbelieveable selection of national/international crafts brews. specials are where it's at on the menu. humus among the best in the world. nice and noisy w/ no need to shout while conversing. totally reasonable prices all the way around. best joint in newport- period.

best craft beer selection i've ever seen. i'm a craft beer guy. just love the stuff. and newport has some good craft beer bars, but the first time i walked into norey's, i was absolutely blown away by the beer selection.

the beers they have on tap are the best and rarest of what's available.

and the food is pretty damn good too. the thai curry i had had the perfect amount of hotness and spice.

chef should stay in back.. i had dinner at the bar one night. i only had one beer. there was an extra beer on my check. some other kind i don't even drink. no big deal. i should it to the girl waiting on us. shes cool. but has to talk to the chef. who come out and gets the bottle of beer. show it to me and say " you didn;t drink one of these" i like i am bs him. he was awful to me a local, who will never go back.

great brews, ok grub. norey's has an amazing selection of micro brews. we think this little place is well worth a visit for their beer. the food is just ok. service is spot on. so stop in & try something different that bud already. it is worth it!

everything i've tried there is excellent. great beer selection, especially if you like trying hard to find microbrews. great wine selection, if you know what you are doing.
