niki's greektown pizza

this is the best place to come with family and friends. the staff are friendly the food is delicious and the prices are affordable. i just wish it were closer.

let me forewarn you: the service isn't great, but go anyway! niki's is a detroit hidden gem. i've been coming here pretty much since they opened in 1980 and it's still one of the best pizzas in the detroit area. pretty much every detroiter knows that there are only two true detroit pizzerias: buddy's and niki's. although their feta & mozzarella pizza was ranked as one of gq magazines "best 25 pizzas in america", i'm a fan of the simple, but magnificent, pepperoni pizza. thick, fluffy, flavorful bread. rich, zesty tomato sauce. cheese baked into a melty sheet with crispy, crunchy edges. this is the benchmark of a great greek pizza, the interior of the restaurant is beautiful, too with the giant wooden beams and aged brick. so, don't sweat the less than stellar service, the pizza is the prize.

the food was not close to any greek restaurant i have visited in chicago. rice pilaf was overpowered by a red dressing that like ketchup. the baklava was old an saggy.. the gyro meat was tasteless and cold.

love love love their pizza! it is always a treat to get pizza in the d and niki's is the only place for me. the service is good & i love the rustic architecture on the inside. i always find something new to admire

good food. horrible service. the waitresses almost always lack any sort of sincerely or friendliness. the half price pizza on wednesdays is a great deal if the waitress bothers to mention it only applies to large pizzas before you order. i've been here a few times and have come back because the pizza is good but i'm sick of the crummy service and won't be back again

great pizza. we went for lunch pizza on a tuesday. not many patrons but took mildly friendly waitress a long time to acknowledge us.

we ordered a two deep dish squares, one bbq chicken and a hawaiian. took a long time to arrive. it was worth the wait. crispy edges, browned center, good toppings. tomato sauce on the hawaiian didn't have much flavor but bbq sauce was great. flavorful bbq and not real "saucy" like some, it was baked well so it was more like bbq paste versus sauce which i think is as it should be.

the facility is nice, better than detroit places further away from downtown like z's or buddy's. took forever to get our bill and again forever to get change so service gets fair at best. three hostesses/servers all standing around gossiping right by the front door as we left couldn't be bothered to say "thanks" or "come again". with so many unemployed people you'd think you could find people to serve food well but that's an argument for another website.

take away the service and this would be better but for the pizza alone would highly recommend!

gotta try the pie. i am a big fan of pizza, and nikki's has its own category in my pizza repetoire. the greasy (greasy-in-a-good-way) pizza is the best in detroit. the cheese is always perfectly melted around crispy and fresh vegetables and savoury meats. you have to try this pie, especially before a wings or lions game in the fall/winter. the detroit core needs more places like this. hit it up.

thisty thursday"s. the husle classes with fast freddy is what's up. after 9pm we sure nuff be doing the grown thang. baby we be doin it at nikki's.

lunch-time pizza special. if you get the piece of pizza with salad at lunch, be careful, because if you come in for an early lunch you get yesterday's re-heated pizza. if you come in after 12:30, you most likely will get fresh pizza.
this has happened to me several times since i get there about 11:40 i'm not going again as this is bad business and bad pizza.

a very nice place to eat.. this restaurant has the best gyros in the state. the pizza is excellent also. i'd recommend this place to everyone everywhere.
