i highly recommend this place, food was good and service was great! pork pot stickers are great appetizers, banzai burger is fantastic, and oreo cheesecake was good. the service was phenomenal, the atmosphere was good. definitely two thumbs up.

the calamari was mostly fried bread, everyone liked thier entree but the rueben did not seem fresh

nice atmosphere and delicious food. nick and jakes has a nice dining section with good low lighting, booths and tables. we sat in a booth near the kitchen. normally, i do not like being near the kitchen because of the noise and frantic scene. at nick and jake's you can't see the kitchen from your booth and there isn't much noise. the dining area is relatively quiet overall. service is quick and professional. we were encouraged to ask questions, and the server had all the answers. we ordered the fried mozzarella as an appetizer. the four sticks are very large, serviced with a so-so marinara sauce. the mozzarella sticks were quite flavorful. i was glad to have the cheese sticks, because we were not served bread or even a salad with our entrees. i had the atlantic salmon, which was excellent. it has a great garlic butter sauce, and nice shrimp risotto. the squash and zucchini side was overdone. my wife had the beef tips, which is served with whipped potatoes. she thought the potatoes were under-seasoned. but the entree is definitely hearty and filling. we went during happy hour during the week, so drinks are slightly cheaper, and i assume that is why our cheese sticks were half of the menu price. overall, nick and jakes was a good experience, and we will definitely return.

good food, but their chocolate cake is like nothing you've ever had, makes the experience so much more worth it!

my ribeye was tough and gristle - a ribeye! my son's filet was pedestrian. mom and daughter had more typical bar food and thought it was ok. no reason to go back, though.

oh, and the place was way too noisy.

excellent service...food was even better (if that is even possible)! highly recommend the ribs! i'm in the area on business but will definately return!

wonderful food and wonderful service. the many times we have gone here we have never had a bad server who hasn't gone the extra mile to make our experience the best it could be. the steak oscar and bread pudding are fantastic, but my family hasn't had anything bad here!

the service at nick and jake's is always good. i've never had a bad meal in the place and i've spent a number of long evenings with the good people from accent sound talking about this and that over a great meal and a number of drinks.

consistently good food. we are regulars at nick and jakes. i am suprised since we eat there once a week that they don't know us but that is another conversation. we love the food, it is consistenly good and service is usually great. i am a salad eater and their salad are just okay, nothing unique or exceptional.

excellent experience - i'll be back. we've been here twice - for dinner & sunday brunch. i was extremely happy with the attentive service, & the food is quite good. nice feel to the place - good lighting, great music selection & volume (sinatra-style), and relaxing decor. i don't usually like buffets, but was pleasantly surprised by the good quality of choices sunday morning - the prime rib, corned beef & eggs, & bread pudding were wonderful. it's a tad pricey, so i'll reserve this for special occasions. the only complaint i can think of is it was a bit noisy sitting in the upper booths during dinner, which made conversation a bit difficult. overall, i would definitely recommend this place, and i look forward to going back!

used to be better. i used to eat here fairly often, but the last two visits were worse than average. food came out cold (refrigerator cold) on one visit, last visit the food was sub-par and service wasn't much better. haven't been back since. i just took a peek at the menu on here, and it appears the prices have gone up as well, which would now put them into the "overpriced" and "underwhelmed" catagory for me. just too many better options out there.

normally a good experience. been here a few times for dinner and have always had very good service and good food. in fact, the first time we went they gave us free desert just for being first time guests.

yesterday i had dinner in the bar area with a co-worker. service was below par. she disappeared for large chunks of time. then when we were done eating, she was not so discreetly trying to rush us out.

on a bright note, they had boulevard collaboration 2 on tap.

good food and drinks. we enjoy the neighborhood feel of the bar. the bartenders are friendly and very efficient. i really like their smoked salmon bruschetta!

top resturant. i have been going since they opened their doors and have never gotten a bad meal. the service has always been great, the food is great, and the atmosphere is wonderful. if either for a nice lunch or evening meal i would highly recommend to everyone. top resturant in kc!!
